These phones that LG makes were always cool. If you hate the buggy software some people are reporting just flash a ROM they are always awesome.
However, I always wonder why doesn't LG buy some AMOLED screens or at least Super Clear LCD? IPS only LCDs don't reproduce good enough black colors not to mention that when it's locked it looks stupid compared to some other phones, the screen is like grey while on Super AMOLED or Super Clear LCD the screen is completely black when locked. Get some LED-backlit screens LG! Make your own, whatever...

    Otherwise, cool phone :)

Lg will stay Lg also with this xD
btw who needs so much ram in a phone!? Thats really nonsensense... Anf IF the phone "really needs" that much then you see that the software is not optimized and crap ;)

Still the S3 is the king! Who needs 2 GB of Ram? Lg is trying to keep up with Samsung, but Samsung is always better, but I don't judge them. This is a cool phone as well.

What the phone makers don't seem to accept is this: that as they increase screen sizes, processor speeds and ram content, they are gradually, unwittingly and surely going towards the path and territory of PCs in all their current forms i.e; PCs, laptops and Tablets. Maybe the turn will come when the traditional PC makers will in turn decide to add a phone chip, 4G and GPS capacity to their products, who knows? The lines are no longer well defined as before as the battles lines are now shifting.

if lg realy want to make the most advanced phone in the world they can just add a feature where u can connect a external dvd drive , gamepad connectivity , dvb-h, a dock where u can connect hard drive, keyboard, mouse, active speakers add all these to their top dog and they releasing one great super phone !

                    pathetic ......
every now and then they find new ways to lure consumers, now packing the useless extra 1gb RAM, totally useless

"opted for a bit of glass and metal, in other words, something befitting of a flagship device".
Oh yeah i totally agree, because those materials worked so well for apple and their amazing iphone 4/s which were renown for their excellent durability compared to the plastic and fragile S/2. Material does not dictate build quality, it is design. If they can manufacture durable, specially formulated plastics that are also lite what is the big deal? Probably the same kind of person that buys beats by dre.

Well, after yesterday's let down, it looks like pretty much all the specs I was hoping for on the S3 are on the LG LTE2!!!! I love my S2 because it led by a mile on specs at release. I forgave the cheap plastics because of this, but Samsung really dropped the ball yesterday.

Vipul, 04 May 2012Huwaei Announces new Phone.. It has got 8Core, Twice LTE... moreIt doesn't work this way. While specifications is a key point when selling Android devices, at the end of the day what will matter is the benchmarks and how that extra performance will affect the user experience.

So there is a caveat when it comes to the core count. It is not clear whether an increased core count really will increase the performance and the user experience, especially not if the software has not implemented proper multi-core utilization. If those multi-core phones won't yield better benchmarks and UE than these phones will struggle in the market.

40GB internal storage is in no way impressive. So I take it that you are just trolling. Phones really need more storage. Consider that these phones shoot video in HD and the screen is also in the high range. The increased use of video content creates a greater need for internal storage. The hardware on smartphones is getting on par with the consoles and so are the games. An Android game like Modern Warfare 3 takes about 1.5GB of internal storage. With the advancement of smartphone hardware we will soon see DVD sized games for portable phones. Imagine having 5-10 such games in your phone.

So I frankly think that at least 256GB-512GB of internal storage would be preferred. We are not there yet but at least Samsung with their SGS3 and ASUS with their Padfone can allow for up to 128GB of internal storage.

I know that Apple fanbois and particularly WP7 evangelists talk about the cloud storage such as the dropbox. For those people I'm sorry to break the news but the entire "cloud" thing is way over the hill now and the native americans want it back because they are worried that all this "cloud" talk will unsettle the spirits of their dead ancestors. Being reliant on a mobile internet connection simplky is not feasible, especially when travelling.

LG, They just make phones/Tablets without any support in near future.
I have Optimus Pad 3D and its still on 3.0 Honeycomb and has a lot of bugs and they just said to us no further update same as who have Optimus X2 and 3D they gave them Gingerbread with bugs and promised ICS and now it looks like no ICS for any of us Pad and 3D and X2.
LG uses marketing tricks to tract customers with first 3d phone first dual core first 2GB RAM and the tricks go on BUT no support what a sad thin, I hope they give the Optimus line ICS fully functioning.
