Apple refreshes MacBook Air with quad-core CPUs, scissor keyboard and lower price

18 March 2020
The previous generation used a dual-core i5, this one can be configured with quad-core i7. It also has double the storage.

I like the scissor keyboard as you get repeated letters with one press.

            I3 Lol

Apple should stop making laptops. They're way too overpriced for what they offer. My Asus with i5-8300H (note that is a "H" model, not a "U" model), 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD is cheaper than the best MacBook Air. Oh, and it has a GTX 1060 (non Max-Q, 6 GB), and a 1080p, 120Hz display. At 2.4 kg, it's relatively light for a 15.6'' gaming laptop. Keep in mind that I'm not comparing specs by themselves. I'm taking price into account too. Thin and light laptops don't have good cooling solutions, and they heat up pretty quickly. So, I don't mind having a bulkier laptop but with better cooling (twin fans in my case).

It's a bit less because it comes with an i3 for the base version
The i5 is more expensive than last year

My i5 2019 128GB Macbook Air has random split-second display glitch when the laptop got host duing high-load.

It's with fully taxed locally and prices differ macstore to macstore. Personally i have a gt70 2oc(cheapo 16gb) i bought almost 7 years ago(will be in august) AND IT"S STILL MORE POWERFULL THAN A MACBOOK AIR ON WINDOWS 10(can't wait till i find everything i need for linux). Heck my moms 12yo 1520 is more or less on par with that macbook. Welcome to 2008 macbook air users, you're still lagging in technolgy and design.

As one of the biggest Apple haters in the world, I would like to congratulate Apple for this new product. They managed to cut the price by a whopping $800 compared to the last generation if I want to configure it to my liking - 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, while also getting a much, much more powerful CPU, graphics that are not garbage town and also including the scissor keyboard.

                        Good job :)

Apple and overpriced. Nothing new here.

I have a cheap Asus Vivo book and it has a larger 14" screen and weighs similarly. Battery lasts longer at 14hrs and it costs about 1/8th of the cheapest MacBook Air.

Shady69, 18 Mar 2020way too overpriced as usual, btw, that looks pink, not gold. For an i3 spec too ahaha
