Sony Xperia 1 II to get night mode, eye AF in ultrawide camera in first update

Sony will add a few important camera features to the Xperia 1 II after launch.

What happened to all the youtuber's hands on video of this phone? I saw a number of youtuber's had this phone for a week and they posted the videos on unveil day. They even mentioned the camera doesn't work because it's an early release version. Now they all took the video down, i wonder what happened....

    if sony could make these cameras in one phone: Fix, Telephoto, wide angle, ultrawide,super periscope mechanical focus, bokeh, thermal, night vision infrared, with range finder , and a pop up 360 cam..they will be number 1 in the smartphone market

            DSEE is an upsampler and no person that cares for audio quality uses it.
            There are many gimmick upsamplers on the market - Dsee is just one of many.

            360 audio is great, but it's essentially just a binaural audio we have for decades - it's nothing new, I have some recording in this format and it sounds good, especialy it helps to reduce listening fatigue.
            Unlike other solutions Sony does not implement headtracking, so their 360 audio is half baked anyways ...

As for brand loyalty, its good to have loyalty as long as its not blind. I stick to brands I trust as it saves me time to decide on prodicts. Also, certain brands have better eyhics in place for manufacturing. As for refresh rates, Its as ll about convincing yourself you cant live without that rate. Most people wouldn't notice an issue (and haven't) until companies starting fighting for the highest rates. 120hz is going to look like garbage in your head once they tell consumers how buttery smooth 240hz is on a phone. Its marketing just like the 4k display, 108mp camera, 100x zoom, 8k recording.There are lots of psychology papers on these marketing ploys you praise/ discredit. People will become less happy with what they have once told its inferior to the next thing. Once purchased, its impossible to get an unbiased review because people tend to justify their purchase.

Anything above 60 is great.

                                  Especialy when a lot of people tend to praise 24, 30 FPS in past as more than enough for human eye. Guess what, there are clinical and military papers proving them otherwise - even stating 300+ FPS still has a benefit for most of the healthy humans.
                                  Same goes when someone is citing my other PR BS named "retina", that should be more than enough ...
                                  No brand deserves my attention, only final, real products on the real market do. Being loyal to a brand is sign of a weak mind not being comfortable with changing perspective (that's my personal perspective and I know a lot of people are loyal for some reason, but that is not my thing and I really do not like when someone is defending a brand, just because it allowed a user to buy their product). I don't see you praising your manufacturer of toilet paper.

                                      Creator mode can't match offering by LG V series with their manual mode (not that I care for it).

                                      Sony did not pioneer on entertainment ... their last decent entertainement adition was LDAC. It's glorious and it already has two alternatives with same results.
                                      If you think CDs, Walkmans, old Bravia glory days ... don't care.

                                      For capturing user content 21:9 is pretty much useless - most, if not all the sensors are 4:3, you can crop your 21:9 if you want.

                                      I don't use gestures on my Swift, I am much ... swifter ... with normal typing (haptic be damned).

                                      + I don't care for big phones, if I would maybe Galaxy Ultra would look like a decent device for my needs ... it doesnt and the size in one of the reasons why. I need a phone, camera and multimedia device in pocket, I have 5 tablets in my home ... to do tablet things, not to mention laptops and desktop PCs.

                                      Not to even mention limit's of one eye ... eye is much more capable to enjoy 60-300+ Hz than 300+ PPI. You really sound like "blind" fanboy :D that's one thing I never be for something as worthless to me as a brand.

                                        Fearghast, 21 Mar 2020Good luck getting anything on the left top side of the Xper... moreThe phone size become larger these days, most of the phone you can't getting the left top side with one hand, so your negative comments apply to all big phone, even I use a 19.5:9 ratio phone and 18:9 ratio phone as examples, my thumb still can't reach the top left side! What I prefer is the width of a phone, much slimmer and narrower phone must easier to grasp in one hand and the proper key size are almost the same, but if you get wider keyword mean your thumb can't easily reach the left side of the phone. I am using SwiftKey and it is fine I adjust the keyboard size slightly taller for better typing experience, even it is a default size I found fine too. What word misspelling the SwiftKey automatically correct the it, but I think the hardware keyboard must have better haptic than on-screen keyword and less misspelling than on-screen keyword, but SwiftKey come with gesture typing provide the typing more efficiently and much easier. Therefore 21:9 nailed it, because it has more space to keep everything in one notchless beautifully screen.
                                        21:9 ratio in real web pages (Desktop site in Chrome Browser ) are great too because 21:9 display keep more content than the shorter phone, it has more content shown, when using the on-screen keyword the taller phone has more web page content, scrolling left and right is much easier to reach because the web page width doesn't longer than scroll down or scroll up. For zooming it is ease of use, even you pinch it to zoom, for huge zoom-in just pinch up and down, it zoom much quickly than chubby phone.
                                        I use split screen and floating window, therefore I can say both are need more space, especially when the on-screen keyword use up half of the screen...
                                        For capturing, 21:9 ratio get more content and user can do photography composition much easier than how busy you helter skelter.
                                        Sony pioneer on entertainment, this Xperia 1 ii has 4K HDR display and creator mode, you can't find on other competitors. Even the Samsung Z Flip come with 22:9 display ratio or S20 20:9 display, some China phone with weird ratio 19.5:9 are totally far behind Sony. The cinematic standard 21:9 display ratio plus the Dsee Ultimate audio technology will have the Greatest immersive experience!
