Have you seen the result from Exynos 990 ?

So the only chip to watch out for which gives best all round performance without throttling much is Snapdragon.

Here Kirin did the same thing(mistake) what Samsung has been doing for some years.
I hope Huawei has figured out how to cool down 16 core of Mali G76.

Not because they want more profit.
Because they always wanted to make the crap Mali GPU more powerful than it should be.
I know you want evidence. I will just give you that.
If you have knowledge on these subject then you know that Huawei Kirin and Exynos use same GPU from Mali.
Even using same GPU Exynos GPUs are 20-30% faster than Kirin. Because Exynos uses more core than they should use. For this they need to cut corners like lowering the frequency of the high performance CPU cores.
I'm happy to know that Samsung is going to ditch the Mali GPU.

It's only the first two of the past 3 years that it changed. And it was for a beneficial reason of designing new cores.

Exynos Chips are not inherently bad...its samsung that holding back itself of providing capable SoC to maximize profits.
I believe Samsung can build capable SoCs if they just ditch their custom moongose or introduce a radical design shift to improve the CPU performance.GPUs in Exynos are going to be much better after RDNA 2 GPUs are introduced in 2021 for exynos.Also other components of SoC are needed to be upgraded significantly.
