Redmi Note phones are only good on paper.. The moment you use them you realize what a big mistake you did by purchasing the phone. I have the Note 9 Pro, Indian Variant and I am suffering from too many content recommendation notifications, poor connectivity, poor camera qualify, software bugs, slow charging, battery backup issues, poor audio output via earphone Jack etc. Due to lockdown in my country Amazon has paused their services, so I can't even return this phone.

It is important to notice the difference between Xiaomi official pricing and AliExpress pricing:
                  1) Xiaomi's official pricing is very stable, almost never changing during the whole shelf-life of the product, usually half-year to less than a whole year. Due to the unique policy of inventory management, Xiaomi never over-commits, never over-supplies any of their products, including the best-selling ones. 'Near-zero inventory', when being combined with short product shelf-life, practically removes the necessity for any price-adjustment within the lifespan of the product.
                  2) AliExpress pricing reflects the current balance of supply-and-demand. At the early stage, the supply is behind the demand, AliExpress pricing tends to be higher than the official pricing. After the supply picks up, AliExpress pricing will gradually approach the official pricing.

                  Xiaomi's 'philosophy of economy':
                  1) Supply should always slightly behind the demand.
                  2) The 'best inventory' is an inventory that is almost always one day away from being "Out-of-Stock".

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2020Fingerprint scanner should be in the middle, not bit above.... moreSince Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (Pro), official numbers for brightness of those phones from Note series (and with IPS screens), are 450 nits. If you know how is a displey brightness in Note 5 Pro, Note 6 Pro, Note 7, Note 8, Note 8 Pro.. You can expect similar screen in this one.

But knowing Xiaomi prices (even on Aliexpress), you can count, after 2&3 first weeks of the sale, price will drop under 200$ (for 4/64 and on Aliexpress). So, who want new phone from Xiaomi, with Android 10 out of the box, and don't have problem with dimensions of this phone, better to wait couple weeks after global sales start. Anyway in India this phone is (now), 175$, so there is no reason to pay more, on Aliexpress and similar sites that inc shipping world wide.

Redmi Note 9S will be released for South East Asia and Japan (starting ~$200). Based on this new development, we can pretty safe to conclude that the real lineup for Redmi Note 9 Sereis will be announced in China in April as follows:
                              1) Redmi Note 9: SD720G, 48MP primary camera sensor, Full HD IPS screen, base configuration: 4GB/64GB. Starting Price: ~$200 or lower.
                              2) Redmi Note 9 Pro (5G): Dimensity 800, 64 Primary camera sensor, Full HD IPS screen, base configuration: 4GB/64GB. Starting Price: ~$250 or lower.

This will be the starting point for a magnificent run of MediaTek Dimensity chips in 2020. If Qualcomm does release a new 5G SoC SD6xxG in the 2nd half of 2020, you can expect the lineup for Redmi Note 10 as follows:
                              1) Redmi Note 10 (5G): SD6xxG, a new 5G SoC targeting $200 market.
                              2) Redmi Note 10 Pro (5G): Dimensity 800+, a clocked-up version of D800.

Look at Lcd phones from Lg, sony and Apple.
Almost all with more than 600.

"AliExpress will be asking $249 and $279, while shipping around the globe" - ridiculously overpriced, especially considering it brings virtually zero added value over Redmi Note 8 Pro, which on Aliexpress costs around 200$. More than that, tests show that camera on non-Max version is actually significantly WORSE than RN8 Pro.

Xiaomi has officially gone insane with these prices.
