The "k" in resolution is just marketing actually.

In 2005, Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI), a prominent standards organization in the cinema industry, published the Digital Cinema System Specification. This specification establishes standardized 2K and 4K container formats for digital cinema production, with resolutions of 2048 × 1080 and 4096 × 2160 respectively.

          Anonymous, 31 Mar 20201080p is 2k... 2400*1080 on S20 is "FHD+"
3200*1440 on S2o is "QHD"(4 times of HD display aka 2K)
The truly 4K display on phones are rare, only Sony keep introducing these kind of hi-end phones.

            Has by, 01 Apr 20202k = 2048×1080 4k = 4096×21601080 is full hd.. display's K number mainly a measurement of Vertical display resolution..
So 2k start at 1440p. 2560X1400 with a usual aspect ratio.. Yeah today's some has vertically more than 3000p. So it can be called 3k logically. But marketing term is 2k basically..
In the same way 1080p are called by full hd. Which comes with vertical resolution under 2000p containing a usual aspect ratio.. So it can be all called 1k or 1.5k (not marketing term). And more than that we call full hd+.. And over 4000p is actually true 4k or cinema 4k.. Because most 4k display has under 3k pixels with a normal aspect ratio..

Anonymous, 31 Mar 20201080p is 2k... 1080p is considered as full hd. And most of time vertically under 2000p so normally those can be called 1k

Unless it's a gaming phone with sufficient cooling and increased battery size, 120Hz is pointless. Even when tasking normally, the handset can potentially get warm. A true gimmick, really.

                  Why not a slider instead?

96hz is weird and you still can't use it at QHD resolution. Explain this Samsung.
