The rollout has started a few hours before it was April.

Every company has their policies. How you get them to change it is by refusing to patronize them. Simple. If you open your wallet despite knowing, don't complain.

To be honest, the one thing I dislike about Android is the inconsistent updates for different locations. Anyways, better late than never.

uk7866, 01 Apr 2020ExactlyEven though I am a Samsung user, until recently I had the same experience. Slow AF updates, even though we payed a lot for high-end flagships.
Happy to see that things are changing!

Namelesss, 01 Apr 2020Everybody cannot buy the latest (and priciest) smartphones,... moreLineage OS or other Roms are not an option for like 95 % of the consumers and rightfully so as it shouldn't be our job to update them via risky roms that might work might not work or even completely break the phone. It's Samsungs job to provide updates period. But on the other hand if you buy something else than thei top of the line flagship these days from any brand you wont receive many updates, it has been like that for years now. Also stock android is not bareboned it is still the best, i bought an S20+ and am anoyed by how many obsolete apps are there from samsung and stuff like fb and so on, some of them you cant even get rid of and the stock skin is just hideous to look at. The entire logic of stock android is to be as minimalistic as possible and the playstore is there to provide you with things you may or may not want/need, that's the whole point dude, I had not had a samsung device since the s3 which was the device that made me go away from samsung for ever but now that huawei is gone and other options like sony, HTC and arguably LG are as good as dead in Europe, the only flagships who remain are either samsung or apple....

There's no point in announcing Android updates as updates are rolled out inconsistently.
For some regions and models, they might get it right away, for others, they might get it weeks/months alter. I used to have a Galaxy A8 (2018), which is supposedly still under monthly security update. But it usually gets the OTA after that month ended (eg. it got January update right at the beginning of February).

My global Mate30pro still on December lol

Everybody cannot buy the latest (and priciest) smartphones, those are the ones that Samsung updates. The Note9 that came out in late 2018 and the S9 are already being forgotten by Samsung, that's unacceptable.
The Google Pixel that came out in 2016 has got the Android 10 update and is still receiving Software updates now and then while the Note8 and S8 users will never see a single color of Android 10
