Well everyone talking about simbions. Gr8nes could have been right in the past but times r changing and the need for smart phones is rising, and now if simbians were so great how come nokia is loosing its sales ground by every minute. Kindly fans of nokia, and u should admitt the fact that nokia is not evolving with the time, they r stuck in the past..

I have used many digital cameras since 2004 -Sony Bridge DSC-V1[Dead],Cannon EOS 1000D [Sold],Nikon D5100[Using with 2 Nikkor Lenses]
I know about Photography.
I work in product design of optical medical devices.
We use high end lenses and sensors in our products.
But We Really Hats off to the innovation of Nokia and Zeiss. Nokia strategically want users a charisma for buying their devices, And its not just a software or UI tweak that any other company can do.
My first Symbian Phone was N-Gage QD, Yes it had a GPU Core,Multi tasking and played multi- player game via Bluetooth in 2004!! and gave firmware update support till 2006[ Ya android phones can do it in 2009]
My second Symbian Phone was N82[Black],It has 5MP camera with a mechanical shutter,mechanical ND Filter and Xenon Flash. And smartphone features like WIFI 3G,GPS,Accelerometer and a dedicated GPU. It can project its AV output to TV or projector through RCA Output.This was in the year 2007!!and gave firmware update support till late 2009[ Ya some android phone can do it in post December of 2009, Forget Xenon Flash and ND filter ,how many android phone is out there with a real mechanical shutter.]
Ya its 2012,I still use my n82 [replaced battery] just for the camera, multitasking,wifi,browsing map navigation and much more.
I never found a solid reason to update to android. Just for the UI [I'm a hardware Engineer].
And Why do you need a good camera phone.
Last month I went to a Cricket Match [Indian Premier League],They were not allowing any devices like Camera inside stadium for security reasons. So I didn't carry my DSLR.
But I had N82, Clicked a lot of good shots.
So you need a good camera phone if your serious about photography.
Symbian and Nokia came a long way, Its true that other companies had tried and failed in Symbian phone.
And Nokia's User Experience is not that pleasing as Android or IOS.
Its also true that Google was giving support for Symbian devices for Sync,Maps and other Dedicated apps. Now Google is ditching services to Symbian because they have an competing OS.
But Symbian is still alive and will give support till 2016.That is 4 Years.
Will you use your smartphone for more than 3 years then you can Buy Pure View 808

if you are buying this phone for the camera go for it!!!..but thats about it...thats the only good faeture in this phone..thats my opinion...

i am an symbian user for almost 7-8 years used all version of symbian just used an android mobile it dont even have organized menu option damm i was searching for an exit option for an application and couldnt find,;) being there for long time doesnt make a thing old and outdated, symbian OS is constantly upgrading and have various versions,the ppl who speak ill abt symbian sure havent used symbian OS. i havent got any virus in my symbian those virus are listed either by mobile antivirus company or competion. dual core of quad core and large display just drain the battery it doesnt make me to feel like a mobile, it looks like i am holding a tablet. seriously ther should be a limit in display size of mobile dimensions. well if a single core processor can handle 41mp cam picture then what the hell do those dual core and quad core processor doing in android just draining the battery or just just for those large size battery hungry displays!!!

Specially... morePoeple still "Hack" Symbians by adding theme effect animations, adding widgets from latest version of Symbian to past versions. etc.
"Hackers" for Symbian are more like whitehats that pushes the OS to its limits by modifying and patching the OS to do what its not intended to do. Try to go to dailymobile.se and see the community work together.
Creating a virus for latest Symbian i think is a bit useless now since the OS is so advanced(version sense) and secure since you need for example to have a legit cerificate(hard to get) as a dev to have your apps installed by the end user. If you dont have a legit certificate then your apps can only be installed by phones that are 'hacked aka rooted(in android)' which makes the potential victims less than the actual casual users since hacking is a bit cubersome for noobs.
If your s^3/anna/belle phone has a virus then your one st@pid user or you dont know anything and dont deserve to own a smartphone.
As for Androids, thats a different story since we all know how google prefers getting your info since its their business. Hackers/Virus creators are quickly bypassing googles attempt to block others from joining in the sniffing of personal info. With Droids fragmentation a security fix might not be available for other droid versions and Droid being in puberty mode. True Story bro. ;D
Symbian is more like a mobile version of Windows XP. If you know how to use Symbian properly you will get my drift. Symbian is old i agree, but codes are more bug free and more secure if you asked me.

how come benchmarks are no longer topics?????
did they become old news already in the quad core androids?
Nokia has something visible and usuable that benchmarks don't reflect that's why fandroids can only bash.

S^3 aka Anna/Belle is very secure now. Only people who hack their phone to override the certificate certs checking may get a virus but i dont know if people still make Virus for S^3.
Older versions of Symbian are the ones with virus not the new one.
