AlienKiss , 03 Apr 2020Dude, we here are geeks in love with specs. BUT, you forget... moreEver considered a career in smartphone exterior design or marketing ? For sure you could sell even the most hideous phones to the target audience you've described – the magic formula being, adding some razzmatazz such as shimmery outer casing, unicorn iconography, rainbow patterns, lots of pastel colours and pink, etc.

Such a pity Microsoft didn't hire you to design the the exterior casing of the now retired Windows 10 Mobile (W10M) Nokia phones. Just imagine what could have been – W10M could have been the #2, behind Android and surpassing iØS phones.

      Alas we shall never know.

G.G, 03 Apr 2020Glass is glass and glass can breakGlass is made from liquid sand, and the composition of sand is silicon dioxide.

In future, I suggest you keep your ill-informed opinions and false facts to yourself, for the internet is full of similar garbage.

As long as it scratches at mohs scale 2 its not important as a device.

You missed the part where the article says they are essentially doing the same thing as Apple:

"the mobile division at Samsung Electronics contacted “multiple foldable glass manufacturing companies”. That way the company can increase the competition between providers and lower the price while the technology improves over time."

Corretion: Samsungs own foldable "glass" will consist of 95% plastic and 5% glass.

I hope they improve it.. The Huwawei is much less noticeable (and costlier) but they obviously have better tech (ive had all the folds in my hands to test)

And newsflash : most of them are fashion addicted and don't give a fly about the specifications as long as it looks super cute and glossy. They are the people this device addresses to. As long as they can show off in the club they'll buy it like hotcakes.

                          1- its completly useless
2- it does only give pressure protection but not what people Can think hearing ,its just like a 11% more then only plastic layer
3-if it does fall or u forget a Nail ,fell in sand
Daily life accidents it will do nothing it will end horrib...
Even for Price its a joke plastic wich is x2 cheaper became more expensive then glass and metal body
So think about it if plastic who is the least hard to make and cheapest they sold it 1400$
So if we suppose WOW they made a fold glass screen for real :o
Imagine then the Price :) they are just wasting money materials and time for a 2004 phone

Would you rather have a weak and weird sized phone with not the best caméra in mid-range
Or take a S20 ultra for better in every point

Samsung Electronics is technology and android worldwide nothing else matters they will accomplish this easily.

If you want things done in a professional manner, don't trust others, do it yourself!
                              Congratulations Samsung!
Don't be like Apple, who's outsourcing everything they do and takes credit for other's people work, only to say after that they are the ones who invented it lmfao..
To be frank, I wouldn't mind having 2 displays with a very, very thin bezel between them, instead of a single foldable display that's super fragile.
I'm more interested in a phone with a sliding real qwerty keyboard..

So, Samsung Electronics is a new rival for Samsung Display at making foldable glass display now? Lol. It's nice they trying to make the glass thicker to lessen the creases. Hope they can figure it out somehow.
