There's really no point in trying to defend Apple in an Android site like this.

The bias is very strong against Apple.

iPhone SE 2020 is not good idea. it has outdated design and technologies.

AnonD-888522, 04 Apr 2020LMFAO Oxygen OS is better than iOS? Dare to show your sourc... moreDid you not remember all those tests that went viral where the OnePlus 5T destroyed the iPhone X? I sure do. PhoneBuff tested it. EverythingApplePro tested it. (Yeah, you heard me, the iPhone fanboy) And in that comparison the X was bugging out, showing how flawed iOS is. PhoneBuff has tested the 6T against the XS Max as well and the iPhone did win, but by literally only a second. (That's not an exaggeration, it was literally a second) They haven't tested the 7T Pro against the 11 Pro Max but judging by the first loss of the iPhone and the mere 1 second lead in the second test I think you can tell how it would end up.

And ok? So you admit iPhones have inferior specs with the only selling point being the (inferior) "user experience".

Ahahaha right the ecosystem. Lol no. I hear this excuse every time people want to defend Apple. No your AirPods connecting when you open the case is not a reason to spend thousands more on an "ecosystem" of Apple branded garbage. Not the garbage sounding AirPods, not the garbage Homepod, not any slow as heck overpriced Mac. I have zero complaints about the user experience on my LG V30. (Apart from the speed, which I'm not defending, but that's due to LG's garbage skin which is completely different from the amazing OxygenOS) Android is extremely customizable and supports all the software you need and my phone works great with every device I use. Bluetooth is a terrible idea to me so I don't use it typically, but in the rare occasions that I do I have no issues, my devices connect instantly. No "ecosystem" would benefit me, and I can guarantee it's the same for most Apple users.

      Your entire argument is wrong.

The "spec wars" have ALWAYS been Android's game. RAM this, pixel density that, Megapixel this. Not once have iPhones been sold based on "specs" it has always been about the user experience. They've never claimed to be first either, "advanced" & "powerful" are the terms they use the most.

Oxygen OS and Android for that matter do not even come close to the ecosystem iOS offers.

Show me where it has been "proven" that Oxygen OS is "better".

Glad I moved on to Android after guessing right that it won’t be se size.

suni08, 03 Apr 2020Yes but there’s more to this than just a spec sheet: Peopl... moreDid you not just read my reply? I already brought up the SoC. (you don't just say processor, this isn't a desktop, goes to show how much you know about this subject) And I already brought up the software but I guess I'll further prove my point. Like I said before OxygenOS is better than iOS, it's been proven. It's faster. (combined with the much faster 90hz display on the 7 Pro) On top of that OnePlus has some of the best software support out of any manufacturer. They deliver 3 major updates to their phones and don't void your warranty for unlocking the bootloader, so you can have essentially endless software support through ROMs. Even the original OnePlus One can have Android 10 installed on it, when that was released before the iPhone 6 which has long since had it's software support ended. And you said affordable as if $50 is gonna break the bank. And you said no hassle as if there's an issue installing the few apps that people use on a daily basis, and as if there's a problem moving photos. That literally takes less than a half an hour. And a smaller display is a downside to more people than it is an upside to others. And on top of that it doesn't even matter if the display is small, it has massive bezels that add a load of unnecessary mass to the phone. Wasteful.

Specs should never be meaningless. If someone thinks that then it just proves how mentally inferior they are.

Don't argue with me about a spec sheet being meaningless on a website that's all about specs.

Although Apple is releasing iPhone 9 (or SE) with relatively compact dimensions, I'd only consider Sony's Xperia Compact lineup to be the true compact phones. They had all, or most features from the bigger flagship phone, like the camera, RAM, storage, and other Z-series specific features. Also the phones (until Xperia XZ1 Compact) were smaller than the iPhone 8, at around 130 millimetres tall. Sony made a mistake of positioning them as premium phones, they could've toned down some specs, and priced them in the mid range segment, and made them widely available, and they could've had a formidable product against the then popular iPhones, (8, 7, 6s, 6 etc, those phones were only slightly larger than the Sony compacts) as more people would then buy them. The reason iPhone SE was popular was that it was not insanely expensive (quite cheap actually, at 300$, for what it offered) and was available around the world, which the Xperia Compacts weren't. So Sony shelved the series.

You get the latest processor, and are guaranteed 5+ years of updates which eclipses Android manufacturers best efforts
Even something as simple as having a smaller one-handed display is an attractive feature

A lot of the specs you mentioned are kinda meaningless to a lot of people, especially something like display density which is perfectly adequate on the SE.

How long does it take their engineering department to develop such a device?
