I have had bad uck with Huawei and customer support was not on par. I hope you have more luck with this brand but I will decline Chinese products. They are fast on the money but difficult to deal with when ha ING problems.

They're really big in China and I doubt the TV will be released outside of China and maybe the EU.

I still agree with your point that many 'big name companies' are asking for data without our permission and advertising them as features though.

Watching TV is so 2000 and late..
To be frank, I don't even remember when I last turned on my 3D TV. I've used only the smartphone and the PC in the last 2-3 years and I don't miss it at all.
On top of that, who wants to just watch, without the possibility of skipping adds?

                        Eye and Pose tracking?

                        Colour me skeptic.

I don't prefer to let "good" companies like Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc. snoop into my daily life using their idiotic array of spy...err...smart devices. Why should I let no-name Chinese companies with ZERO oversight into my home to spy on my daily life as well?

Btw, in case anyone doesn't know even at this late hour, Amazon et al already share a lot of our private data with Chinese and Indian "contractors" for "studies" and where it goes from there is anyone's guess. Keep that in mind next time around when you are doing something with a smart device in the room, which you don't want to share with random strangers any/everywhere around the world.

AnonD-558092, 06 Apr 2020They might have just simply bought the OLED panel. Anyway, ... moreYeah, maybe they have, but considering they make smartphones too, it would be a good idea to make their own panels, mainly now with the Trump thing, they might have trouble finding sellers in the long run, the USA will make pressure on potential sellers from other country like Samsung which is Korean...

Well, the price is dropping, I mean, there is Samsung's "The Wall", it is expensive, but it is planned to be a low volume production, and with higher volume, the price drop, but more importantly, they could research their own way to product miniled and microled to make them cheaper like searching a up scale-able prototype creation method, or using photolithography or even 3D printing based lithography.
Even trying something original like a B&W simple and cheap Oled panel replacing the backlighting of an LCD panel, it would be more expensive than Oled and LCD, but it would have the advantages of both and burn in wouldn't be an issue AFAIK since there isn't colors.

Sounds awesome and truly innovative on paper but it will cost an arm and a leg - at least 10 000 EUR which is way too much for a "HongMengXiaoChuyGongShen" OS powered TV from Chinese brand that actually doesn't produce TVs at all... :-/

Careful with the pop up camera Huawei ! Peoples complain and say weird incomprehensible thing about wear, fragility, dust, waterproof and other stuff from confused peoples and they'll wish about a notch or a hole or a always out camera to get rid of their annoying privacy at home.

Also, now that we should start to switch to miniled and microled, they missed an opportunity, since they weren't producing OLED TV before they could have invested on such.

Under-display speakers when properly implemented are great, if the whole front glass vibrate, it can give really clear and deep bass while still having sharp highs !
When using all 14 speakers by themselves to all output bass, the result is the same as a huge subwoofer, but coupled with a smart low frequency glass vibration, the result can be just insane by filling all the room.
While only using few for high frequency sounds could give a clear and precise location for the surround, if this is done properly, it could become a new standard !
The regular tiny speakers with no bass on TV are disappointing and having a TV that can give nice sound without requiring sound bar or home-cinema setup would be awesome !
