Anyone believing numbers reported by China is either naive or not very bright. This does not apply to smartphone shipments numbers only.

"new figure is still 20% below shipments levels from March 2019."

This is not due to low demand. This is partly due to low inventory as a result of February interruption, and partly due to delay of new smartphone launches. The sale volume also varies greatly for different brands. Xiaomi sold very well, and Honor sale volume was much higher than the same period of 2019. Huawei practically ran out of inventory for many of its models.

Not a good time to buy stuff like phones nowadays unless you really need. We are in front of very big recession!
