MIUI (11) is great if you:
1. remove bloat through adb.
2. use a third party launcher like i did on any other android phone.
Mi 10 sound is great to me with a decent usb-c to 3.5 adapter with 32-bit dac, even better than my previous "quad dac" lg phone...

How good your music sounds will highly depend on the headphone you use. Unless you have some expensive cans lying around, Headphone Jack or type C to 3.5mm connector, won't give you any improvement in quality.

I like the cost-benefit ratio of xiaomi products. But MIUI is very bad. We have a Pocophone F1, a MI9TPro and a MI9Lite. In all of them, notifications do not work properly. If global notifications are not muted, on whatsapp it is impossible to silence all groups without silencing personal contacts and vice versa, among other abnormal behaviors. Tested with Android 9 and 10, MIUI 10 and 11, on the 3 devices.

So far my mi8 and mi 9 pro sound quality is very good and consistent, meanwhile my mi a2, mi note 2 and such were pretty average in fact kind of bad.

Xiaomi and Redmi phones have very poor sound output from audio jack. No clarity. Also system wide sound is not equal, for example in music player the volume level is good but try Chrome, YouTube or any Game, you'll feel like turning the all the way up.
