I am not really interested in new Huawei phones because of lack of Google apps. I didn't like the EMUI either. But when it comes to photography, it remains the best, better than any brand. A particular site did a shootout and I like best the photo outputs of P40 Pro. It is very appealing to me as a mobile photographer. Still because of lack of Google apps, I will never buy a Huawei phone again. I don't like the idea of sideloading Google apps.

Anonymous, 15 Apr 2020Video recording suffers from artifacts in certain condition... moreiPhones are still the best for recording (although their photos are great, but not top-quality).

Samsung S/Note series are rather well-balanced for both photos and videos.

And so the Huawei is best for photos and not videos.

Video recording suffers from artifacts in certain conditions owing to Lower bitrate and RYYB Sensor.
Samsung is still the best for video recording.

new Huawei is always the best for smartphone photography ...

Definitely the best joke of the year. Please, not that iPhone-like water paint oversharpening mess! I rather take last year's Mate 30 Pro photo quality tqvm.

                            Great phomes with obsolete software.

I like Huawei, but let me tell you that we shouldn't hold much value to the opinions of these smartphone rating websites. DisplayMate, Dxomark, TIPA, and whatever else there is. All these firms have been involved in multiple controversies, to the point of seeming outright suspicious.

With that out of the way. I completely agree about P40 Pro having the best sensor on a smartphone right now. Image result is very good, but can be further improved with software updates. I reckon the full potential of this amazing sensor is not being utilized yet, and will realize over time.
