But as an OS it is fantastic on my HTC HD2 windows worked like a treat and that was before MANGO was launched.

Nokia has many apps for Windows Phone like Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia Transit, Nokia Music, Nokia City Lens, Nokia Reading, Nokia Camera Extension, and Nokia Creative Studio. Tell me one phone that has better ratings than the Lumia 900. Sorry, I don't see it. Lumia 900 is the best all around phone right now. Windows Phone 7.5 OS is very underated. Lumia 900 wouldn't be that great with Android or Symbian. Windows Phone is stable/reliable and super fast.

Windows software for Nokia is outstanding, the only thing that lets it down is its poor app store in comparison with ios and Android.... Its the one reason i sent my Windows phone back.

Lets be clear about this. Skype is owned by Microsoft, so why would Skype be anything but just great on WP. Second, I dare anybody to tell me that there is anything better than Nokia Drive, I mean including the Garmin's. Simply outstanding the Nokia Drive and I dare you all who have not tried it to try it. Perfect directions and in Wonderful English loud and clear handsfree. Many languages available also. That's not even the half of WP. Try the rest.

I and most others will wait for windows phone 8 rather than the current standard. It looks very promising. Hopefully will get a good variety of phones like in the Android market. Looking forward to one of the manufactures providing a model that includes all the input options ie physical keyboard with stylus.

I am happy at this news and hopefully it will lure more developers into the WP code-base.
But I'm not actually surprised:
Outside of US and Europe, iOS is not really a huge thing, especially in Asia where people need to pay big money to get the iPhone sim-free.
If one day WP beats Android - now that would be something to get excited about!!

WP is all about waiting, for apps, updates and support.
So what's wrong with even a Symbian which atleast has SKYPE and most of the utilities that you may need.
Android and iOS is unbeatable.
Don't forget Androis belongs to Google which has sense of our requirements since edges.
Apple is best in Quality and Performance, the price is only concern.
Nokia is best for Small and Mid Range which does not make them best in all class, i like the company for quality and design but because of less improvemnts in Symbian, i was forced to switch to Android and iOS respectively.
Microsoft is an essensial software provider for desktop and laptop computing and they had run their Windows Mobile OS and if they are really smart for smartphone then why that old OS is dead, no updates and no support, checkout iPhone 2G or 3G which are still serving people.
Even I am worried about the future of Skype as its in the wrong hand :) Microsoft is not a successful internet brand after we have started using google services. (i doubt even development guys of microsoft are using google to get free codes and to justify their search query)

I like to read all post concerning Nokia and his ceo. I've never seen anyone lies as him. In South Africa he said Nokia is better and win money since the burning platform. We see announce Nokia Lumia sells well in the world, but unfortunately it's false. Pathetic, this ceo thinks with all these liars he will manipulate people to buy a phone with microsoft's OS.

Can anyone clarify as if we are talking about 7% in terms of "growth" or "total market share"?
If Apple only has 7% market share in China, I doubt that's true, given my own obseration in major cities like Shenzhen, Shanghai, and everyday thousands of mainland Chinese tourists ask for iphones to be brought back to China from HK.
If the "growth" rate is 7% and exceeds that of iphone, then I believe so as if previously only 100,000 units of WP phones were sold, a "growth" rate of 7% means 107,000 units were sold.
