The Pro+ model has a larger 1/1.28" 50MP sensor compared to the 1/1.7" 40MP sensor of the regular Pro.

      IR FACE ID is missing in honor30prro+ where p40pro has it. My mate20pro has it that's one of the best features! It unlocks phone in 0.1 sec ALWAYS because it relies on IR blaster to recognise curves of your face. works in 0.1sec in 100% dark as well. P30pro did not have it and was big let down (plus the HD+ and lack of notif. led) that's the 3 reason I passed p30pro and kept mate20pro. If mate40pro has led notif.and qHD I will get it. If the day (october,november) they show mate40pro it has zero of some of this 3 features as my mate20pro has them - qHD, IR FACE, Notif.LED, I will buy p40pro+ I will live with HD+ and no notif LED if no present is available in mate40pro as well afterall I want new huawei model this year.

          Low bitrate and messing up colors.
          Just brightening the video doesn't mean better video quality as suggested by several biased reviewers. S20 ultra still the low light video champ. Nona Bayer doing its magic here.

            1) Main camera:
            P40Pro: 50MP IMX700 1/1.28" with OIS. (The best sensor for 2020 smartphones.)
            Honor 30 Pro+: 50MP IMX700 1/1.28" without OIS.

            2) 5X periscope optical zoom:
            P40Pro: 12MP (RYYB), better sensor, larger diameter of the zoom. Amount of usable light is at least 150% of the light available to sensor on optical zoom of Honor 30 Pro+, a significant upgrade.
            Honor 30 Pro+: 8MP sensor, comparable or better than the periscope zoom of P30Pro.

            3) Ultrawide:
            P40Pro: 40MP IMX600 (RYYB), f/1.8, 18mm (ultrawide), 1/1.54", fine-tuned for superior video performance.
            Honor 30 Pro+: 16 MP, f/2.2, 17mm (ultrawide);
            This is probably the most significant upgrade of P40Pro over Honor 30Pro+.

            4) IP rating:
            P40Pro: IP68;
            Honor 30 Pro+: IP54;

            5) Display:
            P40Pro: 6.58", 1200 x 2640, (~441 ppi).
            Honor 30 Pro+: 6.57", 1080 x 2340, 19.5:9 ratio (~392 ppi).

            6) Styling and finish:
            P40Pro: Quad-curved; More compact, 1mm narrower, 2mm shorter, because of quad-curved. Slightly more refined finish, especially in various details. (You have to see it up-close to notice.)
            Honor 30 Pro+: 2-side curved;

            7) Misc:
            P40Pro: Additional security features (probably not significant for international users)

                        When i saw that only the plus has the new sensor, i immediately gave up, i won;t pay 750 euros for a phone that does not have Playstrore, i was tempted to live with the limitations for 600 (H30p) but they didn't include the IMX700, so its a DOA, the P30p is cheaper and better.
