They have to do this simply because everyone now know that OnePlus is a sibling of OPPPO VIVO, who have a reputation when it comes to updates. Just to prove that OnePlus is different they do this. And buyers go gaga over this gesture.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for my Always On Display feature update for my OnePlus 6t...
That just prove that they only care about money and their image (to make more profits) and don't care at all nor respect customers.
On the past, they were a brand known to be actually really close to their community, they grow with it, and nowaday, most people outside of tech/phone enthusiasts don't even know OnePlus (I talked about OnePlus with phone vendor in general store with a electronic/computer/phone section multiple times, none of the phone vendor ever heard about the brand, so that's not an overstatement that really only the community, tech enthusiasts and really few other peoples know OnePlus, at least here in France), but they are doing anti customer things, I think they are literally burying themselves doing that...
    Self karma ?

Pathetic company with pathetic devices, hoodwinking people of their hard earned money. What is the urgency in the first place to release a phone with so many issues? Useless people still believe in such companies.

I dont get it, why do a flagship device like oneplus, needs day one updates anyway? havent the software tried and tested, and polished enough for the users, or just give an impression " we update our phones "

YUKI93, 17 Apr 2020That is fast.they always did that. I dont know if it is a marketing scheme or w/e. it gives people the impresion that they care and that they are good with updates.
