Google working on a smart debit card to rival Apple Card

18 April 2020
It will come with a Visa-powered chip but Google may expand support to Mastercard later on.

Apple Card gives 2% back for ALL Apple Pay usage. Google better do the same or more, if not it's DOA. That 2% cash back is enough to stick with iPhones heck for some the cash back is enough to get a new iPhone annually.

If is not that big of a hit with Apple, I personally don't know anyone using it but I have a ton of friends with the phone. why copy something if it's not a big hit in the market..

So Google will cancel this card project around 6 to 8 months from launch just as it starts to become popular.

Otherwise it wouldn't be a good old Google product.
