Hilarious. The old windows mobile marketplace is no longer just not supported. We're closing it! Oh you just bought a WP7 phone last year? Upgrade now! You have no choice! Oh and that phone wont be compatible with the new OS we're bringing out this year. Excuse me sir I know you'd like to buy that MS phone, but we need to confirm that you're a masochist first okay?

Windows Phone should have 100% on latest update. Android has about only 5% on latest software. Latest update will give the developers less issues with their apps and keep your phone safer from security flaws.

First the skype for nokia 610 issue and now this? if this is the attitude, I will have to rethink if I should move to Windows phone!
Also had read sometime back that current gen phones will not be able to update to Windows 8 and so had already kept the plan on hold.

For the remaining few people who have not yet updated to WP7.5 from WP7, you should because:
1. WP7.5 has way more features than WP7.
2. The update is free!
3. It's available for ALL WP7 phones, NO EXCEPTION, since late 2011 yet.
4. It's easy! Just connect your phone to Zune in your computer via the data cable and it tells you there's an update available for you. Also, first charge your batt to full before updating.
I did my update last December 2011 and I'm so glad I did because of all the added features in WP7.5 which were not available in WP7. Doing so would also help prevent the platform from fragmenting.

This won't help WP rise by any means. They are telling their customers what to do. That's simply disgusting. I'd take freedom over smoothness any day of the week, even when I know I'm being watched closely (just as any other smartphone user).
