[deleted post]The paper you sent doesn't really discuss how the damage happens, it's focused on methods for discovering damage inside the cell. Because of that, they caused damage on purpose by going up to 5C charging rates (no phone goes above 2C).

Also, if there were 8 cells of 500 mAh inside the body, each charged at good ol' 5W, the battery would be full in 30 minutes. That doesn't mean 5W kills the battery (even though the charging block is 40W in total).

There are a million variables and I've never seen anybody scientifically measure phone battery degradation due to different charging protocols. High amperage isn't good as it creates heat, high voltage causes Li plating, lower capacity cells are inherently less resistant to wear and tear, etc. We simply can't know for sure how the batteries react under these specific circumstances.

        It could have been the perfect smartphone if it had wireless charging, bigger battery, UFS 3.1 support, microSD card support, FullHD 240 fps (or higher) slow motion support and 3.5mm headphone jack. But hey, the perfect smartphone dose not exist and never will.

            Yes, the OPPO Find X2 Pro is expensive, but none of the phones you mentioned comes even close to Find X2 Pro. The closest contender is the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G which cost even more.

              Again you failed to mention that some phones have the updated UFS 3.1 capabilities, notably the vivo iQOO Neo3 5G, vivo iQOO 3 5G, vivo NEX 3S 5G, Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi A3.

              The OPPO Find X2 Pro is not looking all that great is it now.

A 10-bit display which only oneplus and oppo have at this point, a 120hz, 1440p screen, the MEMC chip, another chip that converts SDR to HDR, 3 versatile cameras that all record in 4k60. All other phones you mentioned have a lot of compromises to keep the price that low.

                        Nobody is buying those $1000 flagships when last year's top phones are still going strong and Apple is rolling out $400 iPhones.
                        Not to mention Oppo's Realme X50 Pro 5G and Reno 10x which is just as good and costs half the Find X2 Pro!
