Bought Nokia 603 a week back.
Updated it with Belle FP1.
This OS is Amazing, e.g I compared the processor with LG Optimus 2x and tried opening Fruit Ninja, Angry Birds, Asphalt and other heavy games, to my surprise nokia 603 opened all of them quicker then LG Optimus 2X.
But now I am Very disappointed with this news.

Oh how the Mighty have fallen.! Not too long ago, symbian was the only mobile phone OS. Nokia ruled the mobile world with that OS. And now its just reduced to crap that even Nokia has disowned. It is the slowest and most buggy OS ever. It has the minimum no. Of apps which barely run on their devices. I hope the new linux OS is better.

i don't know why everyone calls nokia bad ,shit ,etc......everyone has just forgot that rim is not upgrading os7 devices to os10 and samsung is only upgrading few handsets to ics 4.o and the same goes for all manufacturers(excluding apple) while nokia is still supporting its three and two year old phones (e72 just got an update and n8 is getting fp1 and fp2 lite)
besides i don't think nokia is giveing up on symbian just yet since most nokia's core services like nokia maps and others are either symbian only or more extensive on symbian. And lets not forget that the n9 still getting updates and more to come according to nokia's official statement

So, basically they said: "Yes, we killed Symbian".
I'm just not sure how they plan to deliver Windows Phone OS to low budget phones that were carrying SymbianOS till now. You know, the phones between the 60 and 150 EUR mark. Those that aren't quite yet dumb phones but aren't high end smart phones either.
I've said this before and i'll do it again. Nokia should have left the OS-es like this:
Dumb phones - proprietary OS
Smarter phones - Symbian
Higher end smart phones - Windows Phone
Unless they plan to use cut down version of Android instead of Symbian, but i doubt it...

Another 'We lied' trick by Nokia. They've lost all credibility with this one.
Many people have bought Symbian phones solely on the promise of continued support. Nokia should expect a lawsuit soon.

dont let yourself down nokia.
nokia is popular for its smart phones.
htc mobiles have better windows phones than nokia.
the promotion of n9 was to be essential.but nokia let it down.no phone has the ability to perform like n9.
just changing the meego software can make the n9 the best phone available in tha market.
it can take over any galaxy models or htc in the market.
goodluck.

I find it interesting that people are concerend about how stable a platform is, and comparing closed and open sourced operating systems. Yes you have more bugs on an open source system, but that is only if you are not as tech savvy and don't know how to avoid them.
I'd say from my experience that Symbian was a fairly stable platform, however the main issue were the handsets not having enough RAM to cope with user demand, thus leading to having to perform hard resets. Symbian just didn't keep up with changing direction of the market quick enough, and I totally agree with Nokia's move to drop it.
And as much as I like the look of Windows phones, they all seem a bit souless, with the fact there seems to be almost no custimisation. I feel Nokia are not doing themsevles many favours by restricting their O/S, but they've been in the game for a long time, I'm sure there is a long term strategy in place

Nokia is killing itself (suicide). If they hadn't taken so long to give symbian a major update they would be in a better spot right now. they though because they were on top they should just relax. I love NOKIA but this is pathetic.
