Huawei cannot get any android updates. This Sony phone is the best of 2020. Only refresh rate could get better, but instead we have 4k oled, best camera of 2020, front facing stereo, 3.5mm jack, and sleekest design. It is also made in Japan!

TuGa121, 06 May 2020Ur funny.... Who cares what machines they use and please sh... moreNobody cares who makes displays. It only matters how good the display is put into use. Even assuming sony xperia uses samsung oled panels, Sony uses different drivers and their bravia tech to display colours unlike samsung. Which is why U can't get same display performance on all mobiles using samsung panels.

Also there are other manufacturers as well like LG for example. Apple and Sony have used LG panels as well not long ago. In the end it doesn't matter who makes it. It only matters how it is used. Anyway this post is about cameras of Xperia 1 II.

Who cares what machines they use and please show me a link that tells me the machines are Japanese lol ur Pathetic lol .....Here are facts for u samsung males just about 90 percent off the panels for everyone .......Samsung has been the leader of the smartphone OLED panel business for several years now, and according to a new market analysis report, the company captured more than 90 percent market share during the previous quarter.

According to market research firm Stone Partners, Samsung Display shipped 61.6 million smartphone OLED panels during the first quarter of 2020 and captured 90.2 percent market share. On the other hand, rival brands EDO, Visionox, Tianma, and BOE were responsible for 4.9%, 4.5%, 0.4%, and 0.1% shipments, respectively, of the 68.3 million OLED panels that were shipped during Q1 2020.

There is a massive gap between Samsung Display and rival mobile OLED panel manufacturers. It is being reported that the South Korean firm will begin shipping more OLED panels with punch holes to other smartphone OEMs. Although such panels were limited to high-end phones until now, they will start appearing in low-end and mid-range smartphones in the future.

With each passing year, more smartphone models are switching from LCD panels to OLED panels. Counterpoint Research reports that 600 million smartphones with OLED panels will be shipped in 2020. As entry-level smartphones start using OLED panels, Samsung Display is bound to sell even more units in the coming years.

It is clear that Samsung Display will not have any competitors for the next few years. The company sells OLED panels to Apple, Google, Huawei, OnePlus, OPPO, and Xiaomi. The company is also making huge investments in making foldable OLED panels and foldable glass as shipments of foldable phones are bound to grow in the future.

Let it all out, you'll feel better. ;-)yeah i feel much better sony fan boys all they do is talk talk talk and at the end of the day they use other devices sony is not sony anymore cpu and gpu is Snapdragon display panel is samsung ram is samsung storage is toshiba at the end of the day what does sony make ? Cameras ?ohhh wait they also use 2 samsung cameras i mean where is that pure sony device ? its a mix of other companies they buy from so what does sony make bat and frame ? because even wireless charge is from snapdragon i mean this is why they fail its just the truth but u sony fan boys just talk without educating yourselves......Then they throw a $1200.00 on it with old 12mp cameras from 2 years ago and a fake motion blur bs that makes it seem as if it was a 90hz panel lol good job sony

For the Xperia 1, Sony took it to Samsung Display to manufacture this unique panel. The Sony Xperia 1 has the first mobile 4K OLED panel, and the difference is definitely noticeable when consuming 4K content. However, the display only renders the Android UI at 1080p (2560×1096), but it still appears plenty sharp because of how the OLED PenTile arrangement sub-samples the pixels at such a high native subpixel density. Only when playing true 4K content will the Sony Xperia 1 render at its native 4K (3840×1644) resolution. In any case, the Sony Xperia 1 has the sharpest mobile OLED display on the market.

Educate yourself before talking and assuming stuff

Anonymous, 06 May 2020useless 4k on tiny screen. 120hz is more usable, but sony ... moreI still don't understand the hype for 120Hz on premium mobiles. It is not a gaming mobile. Unless U wanted a big battery and big size mobile, u are only asking that feature with lot of compromises. Not everyone likes the animation or play with notification bar 24/7 or able to notice the animation given 60Hz/90Hz and 90Hz/120Hz separately. 4K has it's own advantages over QHD. Small or bigger screen is secondary, u get sharpest mobile display that can cover more colour gamuts than other mobiles, and U will notice only when u actually used it.

PS: Sony has been doing 4K on their flagships since 2015. They will not switch to QHD. You can't implement 120Hz on 4K display. There is no processor that can do that on smartphone. However Sony is bringing 90Hz equivalent motion blur.

Sony said before they're not optimizing for DXO mark.

This can be seen with the night shots keepingg the night sky dark and moody, capturing the moment and no blue skys at night.

High dynamic range is technically correct/better except it's emotionless (well, imo atleast as you're relying on the AI and not yourself)
