This is how companies should do it. Everyone on this planet cannot keep on buying new or flagship phones just to get the latest OS. COMPANIES should update all phones irrespective of the year they are released as long as the hardware supports these new OS update.

Nokia is giving updates in all of its range and how many google device are now?
Instead of this nonsense reply ask real users of Nokia phones like me who is using Nokia 6 2017 even after 3 years my phone is working smooth and i have Android 9 and got April security patch recently. Even Google Camera/GCam 7.0 works on my 3 year old mobile.

Those who are defending HMD that they've full filled their 2 years OS update promise for Nokia 8 , let me tell you that Original Google Pixel got Android 10 update even this device was released on October,2016 but Nokia 8 did not and was released on September,2017. Nokia 8 wasn't cheap and meant for a flagship grade phone. This phone should have came out with Android Oreo out of the box cus Oreo released before even Nokia 8 hit the market. Nokia 8 & sirocco both are similar in term of hardware spec so porting Android 10 for Nokia 8 wasn't a big deal for HMD. Some mid and low range phone are getting Android 10 update but Nokia 8 not this ain't fair for the price they asked for Nokia 8. Nokia 8 and other Nokia phoens are pure Android based just like Google Pixel so giving update to Nokia phones won't going to be that much of a big deal. Even they provided Nokia 8 with buggy camera app and defected hardware. They only wanted to get rid of Nokia 8 and plug out from any service asap they can and they did!They at least could become developer friendly so that some developer from XDA build rom for Nokia 8 but they cut off every way possible for us to taste latest Android, Project treble is the only way still not so stable like a full build custom rom even unlocking bootloader is a headache now for they stopped the bootloader unlocking service. Wannabe Nokia HMD global deserve to die in hell!That Juho is the greatest drama king of the company. They played with emotions with old Nokia fans. It's much better to buy cheap phone from HMD rather than buying so call flagship defected phone. Some people may find my argument salty but it's the truth. On this highly competitive phone market they are doing nothing special whatsoever.

Please Nokia company bring back 16:9 screen phones I request the head of Nokia to consider my appeal. Also make 6 inch 16:9 bezeless and notchless screens. Let's bring back the 16:9 aspect ratio. Someone please put a petition to all companies to switch to 16:9 screen ratio screens.

Now its already more than 3 years the phone came. In this span many other devices came and all needs to be addressed. Nokia 5.1 plus are even yet to receive. So they will decide based on device lifespan and count of device sold plus easy to upgrade scenario too.

Because right now it looks kinda strange, that few month younger entry level Nokia 1 is getting Android 10, but not the flagship Nokia 8.

Expensive phones are useless, unless you are really in need of all that power or phone capabilities. But, people minds are so easily manipulated. They will pay 500, 600, even 1000EUR for a smartphone, just because it has an S pen, but will never use it. Or, just because it has IP rating, but they live in a country where it is raining once per year. Or has 2k/4k resolution with 90Hz refresh, but they use their phone only in 1080p resolution with 60Hz to save battery. Or the phone has some small tweaks here and there, but they will never use them, but it is good that are there.. etc.
I was one of this people. My last 2 phones, were iphone 8 Plus and Samsung S9+. I pay around 1500EUR for both. I use them, literally only for Youtube, Whatsapp, web browsing and casual games. No facebook, no instagram, no twitter, no other app, or multitasking. I just bought them because I wanted the best of the best at that time. I was an idiot. Sadly, many people are the same.
Yeah, you can say, people do whatever they want with their money. And is true, that is why I decided, to never buy an expensive phone again, no matter the brand. And I really think I am on the winning side here.
