Oppo put their products like premium one, more expensive, same like Vivo, one plus, and Xiaomi with their MI line. Realme and Redmi is just for people who don't want to spend more money or have tiny budget, but want good specs.

                    Oh common, it's not properly an independent company, it is still under Oppo which is under BBK. Just like Redmi it's under Xiaomi and Honor under Huawei and many others.. I really do not understand the logic of all this 'independence', it's like an illusion to make you believe you have a lot more choices..
