just read some news and the n96 looks set for a late august release in the UK on o2 however Vodafone have said to have struck a deal with nokia over this handset....
oh and just to clear up any rumours the next iphone will not be released untill 2009 and thats worldwide
do not expect mms on the handset as it is dead tech with email becoming far more popular on handsets

seen the leaks and it looks soooooo sexy
dont expect much from motorola
nokias look like the best features so far but ive gotta say that the se's are the ones with the best designs so far and i aint an se fan!

I totally agree... I was expecting the Wow factor. The N96 and N98 formally announced but nothing new at this stage. More about services from Nokia and it looks like that they are more looking into competing with Apple services. Nokia Map2.0 and little talk about Nokia Touch... Only to be released mid this year!!!

THERE'S MORE THAN JUST NOKIA & SE

All I hear you guys go on and on about is NOKIA vs SE. What is up with that? You're on GSMARENA, it should have occurred to you that there are many other brands that deserve some attention.
We all have favourites, but I know that most of you haven't tried anything except for the BIG 4.
And to go with the theme of this years MWC in Barcelona, why not research some other brand you have never tried before and for once buy it? If you don't like it you can always sell it.
My top 5 wishlist: (some are foreign)
1. SHARP 920SH
2. TOSHIBA 912T
3. SE K850i
4. ETEN GLOFIISH X800
5. SHARP 910SH
Nokia would also be in the list, but simply not my top favourite as my last Nokia (N73) was simply too slow and quality wise not satisfying. Wouldn't mind a N95 8GB though!

Keep your eyes out on the WMC (world mobile congress) in Barcelona. There are a few announcements already. I hope Nokia can outwit Ericsson release... So far SE has just announced the SE-X1 (sexi) pretty good name. anyways they are hailing as the iPhone killer here in Sweden with all the trimmings of the IPhone including touch screen and qwerty slide keyboard and guess what SE is ditching the SE OS and going for Windows mobile. For pics the link is here some of the specs are sorry but this is all I have for the moment for you SE fans.
camera (no other info), gps, touch-screen, qwerty keyboard, 16mm thick, front buttons look like they are copied from the Nokia Prism

OK I'm a Nokia fan. And I am reporting on something that is not Nokia and I know. But there are some of you out there who are interested in mobile handsets its always good to see what other competition has to offer. And this is really a first for SE. They have ditched Symbian UIQ and their own proprietary software. I'll try and give you news from Barcelona first hand.
Please note I am being open to other brands so this whole week can either make or break certain brands.

that just goes to show how anxious and jealous you SE fans are, read the comments of x1, wow....you guys are going crazy man, why? cause for the first time it looks like your gonna get something good, man apart form the touch screen the x1 is nothin, nokia are far far ahead man, wow 3mp cam and wifi.... congrats se fans, using wm, sony can't make their own os so they go with wm, they can make thsir own phones so they go with ericsson, you think the x1 is gonna kick Nokia's ass?, apart form touch screen my N95 8GB's kicking SE's a*s.........when nokia's touch ui arrives we gonna rule all mobiles not just multimedia all in ones
