I've personally had a bad experience with Dell, especially in terms of battery life. I bought a dell latitude 5280 i5-7300u and its battery went kaput within 6 months, a similar experience with another Dell model.

I’ve been surfing on the web more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any stunning article like yours. It’s alluringly worth for me. As I would see it, if all web proprietors and bloggers made puzzling substance as you did, the net will be in a general sense more beneficial than at whatever point in late memory.

"Dell claims the 17-inch model is the smallest 17-inch laptop in the world and 48% smaller than most 15-inch laptops on the market today."

This statement is obviously a mistake, what it should read is "Dell's 17 inch laptop is smaller than 48% of 15-inch laptops on the market today." To say it is "48% smaller than most 15-inch laptops" is ridiculous.

I am excited to get one with a 4k screen and i9 processor.

My new laptop is 15 inches and has a numeric keyboard and it's annoying, it isn't comfortable for me and looks a bit ugly. Of only they used the space for slightly bigger keys and proper normal sized arrow keys. What if they used the sides for front facing stereo speakers?

*even for 17 inch laptops I wouldn't like it. Also if anyone is wondering why I got it even though the keyboard isn't that good in general. It's because it was dirt cheap for a GTX 1050 2GB.

Meh... 17" with no numeric keys?
Also why thicker bezels comparing to 15,6" and why oh why no AMD options?

If you can pay a premium then HP Spectre x360 is way better (in comparison to i5/i7 Dell XPS 13). I tried the XPS recently. Trackpad's too spongy. The Spectre's screen is way better (OLED and very well calibrated). Although I can't say the XPS is a bad laptop, but it's not the best (don't trust The Verge's BS).

I hope the thermal redesign does justice this time. Guess the latency issues are resolved. Too bad from Dell's side that they don't bother fixing the issues existing in their current models. I will wait for the reviews to be up first before getting one. Ryzen 4800u with RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon 5500 with thin bezels would've made 9700 series a much better device for content creators.

It's nice to have another option for the 17" screen size.
I find 17" is more usable and easier on the eyes.

No Ryzen 4000 series option? Ok..
Anyway I really love Dell's new design direction, but the larger XPS 17 looks a lot like MBP 16 with narrower bezels or enlarged MateBook X with a black palm rest. Not saying it's bad or anything, but it's still worth pointing out that a laptop design is getting increasingly similar between different manufacturers just like what's happening in phone industry.
