Weekly poll: Poco F2 Pro costs more than the original but does more too - is it worth it?

17 May 2020
The F1 launched at €330, this one starts at €500. Even so, it's the cheapest S865-powered phone available globally.

Sort by:

Imo it's the cost of SD865 and 5G and Qualcomn's "monopoly". Even OnePlus ended up going to high premium price. The Android fans are "asking" for it as they all have been locked in to Qualcomn for the last few years.

Imo the Poco F2 Pro is still well priced for the spec. And the fact that it is officially supported. I mean don't compare this to the Chinese version of K30 Pro where you have to put the global ROM yourself and you have zero support/warranty.

VectorR, 17 May 2020Both Samsung and OnePlus took a long way to come to the cur... moreRTX is more than that. It will take time but in the end I believe graphic processing will become completely RTX based. No more rasterization. That far from now, but it has started. Nvidia's price jump is Abit too much, but I expected it. And yes Nvidia deserved that price jump way way more than phones.

most annoying thing about this brand is ads, f*** ads everywhere . no matter whether the phone is high end or budget, those freaking ads will be there. what a shame !

Double the price of the original Poco, no micro SD support either which means you have to pay even more if you want to make it more future proof and only 60hz display. Disappointed with it. Additionally it's basically got the same camera setup as the £250 Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco F2 should've at least been the global K30 Zoom edition then if it was starting at £430 for the base variant, had micro SD and a 90hz display I would definitely have got it

limbonic, 17 May 2020But how much cost was Galaxy S, S2, S3.... and how much now... moreBoth Samsung and OnePlus took a long way to come to the current pricing. Poco decided to skip that and make significant price jump just on the second model. That won't work Poco, sorry! Regarding the graphic cards, the high end ones always were about $600. So nothing changed there. It's just one more segment appeared - cards for enthusiasts (reach m***f***s who wanna play on 3-4 monitors with 4k resolution)

Overpriced. Should cost under 400$ and build:
-SD855(Just like Poco F1 use the previous year flagship chipset to reduce cost)
            -Without 5G
-only single Camera(Poco series should focus on gaming at BUDGET price because we already got Black Shark series)

We don't need 5G rite now.. and we pay for it? No way.. 5G modem is seperated feom the chipset, unlike 4G is integrated.. and its causing more pricey.. dont force us to pay we don't need

But how much cost was Galaxy S, S2, S3.... and how much now cost S10? OnePlus one cost 300 euros, right, OnePlus 8 is about 800. Prices of all todays phone is up, like graphic cards.

No 5G networks in India, no use until 2022, in 700-1000 days/charge cycles (42°C ambient summers) ur non user replacable Li-ion battery is shot anyway. New specific to model batteries becomes old new stock, degraded in storage. Planned obsolescence FTW. Don't buy it.

I think the best choice would be the K30 Racing Edition with OIS and B20 band, because the other parts such as the 768G SoC, 120Hz refresh rate, 64 MP, BT 5.1, 4500 mAH battery are enough for the average users! I hope that Xiaomi will be release a modified K30 RE global version!

Well, it does deliver most things but the refresh rate...

The Poco F2 Pro is just a global variant of Redmi K30 Pro, so no thanks. I'd rather wait for a global variant of the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom.

people go for realme x2 pro 340 usd ... its best value phone till now

I don't get how the Poco F2 pro has a significant jump in its screen to body ratio while having the same screen size and same dimensions as the K30 Pro? Are perhaps the dimensions given for Poco F2 pro wrong?

Again, stupid poll; Poco F2 Pro is bad not because of its price, but because it's rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, when it should have been rebranded Redmi K30 Pro Zoom!

They will lower the price after realizing people in lockdown won't be willing to spend on phones, especially this poco f2

Xiaomi really has increased their prices this year. People will move to Redmi.
