The only hindrance from getting to the competition with apple is the long term support. At least 5 years would do.
I'm sure the 4a will crush the hyped chip in a 5 year old design

While all the dozens of Chinese manufacturers keep churning out tons of glass/metal chunky tablets, it seems it's only Google how goes for sensible materials (light and non-brittle) and compact, one-hand friendly size.
Why the hell they keep delaying it, though? I gave up and went for P30 :/

The mobile technology competition reveals real weakness of Google handsets. Cheap, plastic phone, with mid-range chipset, for ~$300-400, by Google. At the same time almost all non-US based Android players offer better performance and affordable price = greater value for customers. There's something wrong US-based developments (I'm talking about Android), Europe is already out of the game. In Asia you can now produce high quality phone (metal frame, decent chipset, memory, etc.), with good parameters and attractive price tag. Google could attract more clients if offered 3, 4 or 5 year update support... but it looks like they making many mistakes like Sony and HTC.

Whackcar, 16 May 2020This is not a phone that I would purchase. I am not into Go... morethat is exactly the right phone for me : light, excellent photo capabilities, good audio, nice OLED screen, very light ... all in all high value. definitely not going for an Iphone 8

I am not into Google phones and besides that I only buy high-end phones. All I am saying is that this phone is better than the other phone for the reasons I have stated before. And no I have nothing against the other company, I think they make good flagships but their cheap phones are not good at all.

All i said in my comments is that this phone is better than it's competitor, and i will stand by that statement.

If it sits well with you to go around with a kid toy looking phone you can have your preference but many people will laugh at you if pull out that toy in a business meeting or anywhere you are expected to have half decent looking stuff for your personal use.
There is nothing special about this phone besides the camera, the mi 9t, the samsung A71 quite frankly look better to me than this phone, not even a SD card slot to show for. It's lovely to see fans of this phone talking about "overrated" phones, makes me smile, guess that google is finally has managed to create their very own "camera" cult.

Anonymous, 15 May 2020It is a cheap piece of plastic unlike the other "overrated"... moreThe cheap plastic build is much more durable than the glass back of the overrated phone. If you were to break that glass, the greedy company charges you $269 to replace it (which is ridiculous).
Besides, even with a plastic back, this phone looks much more modern & stylish than that other outdated looking phone.
