Where did the Athena go? No news since the spy shots. Some site says the Grand S LTE is the Athena but the Grand S is 6.9mm thick.

Prateek, 07 Jun 2012Can I use 3300 may battery on my Samsung galaxy s2?? is t... moreLook up on Ebay the Samsung galaxy s2 gold battery. They have higher capacity Lithium Polymer batteries that are supposed to be the same size. I can not verify myself the quality of them, but they are supposed to be very good and I shall be testing one soon myself.

Prateek, 07 Jun 2012Can I use 3300 may battery on my Samsung galaxy s2?? is t... moreYou can use a larger battery on your s2, I'm just not sure about it being 3300mAh. Many batteries have fake mAh readings. You should research what battery seems to be highly reviewed. A good brand (I think) is Cameron Sino. Avoid brands like Mugen, and Seidio. They charge a large amount of money for there batteries, and there mAh readings are proven to be very far fetched. The only flaws of a larger battery is that it will be larger, so it will make your phone larger (they come with a new back door). Just make sure you get a well reviewed battery, because some batteries are proven to be worse than the original phone battery, even though they are of a larger size.

Marco, 01 Jun 2012The SII had a 2000 mAh optinal battery available, building ... moreUnless you get Lithium Polymer batteries which are just that and there are plenty of them. There are also just better made standard Lithium Ion batteries. Just don't buy cheap ones if you do not know what you are doing or are not ready to accept the fact that they may be cheap.
I have a 1,500MAH and I'm gonna get a replacement 2,450MAH that's the same size because it is Lithium Polymer. How do you think a short stocky phone like the Iphone that uses an LCD always achieved such thinness? They use a Lithium Polymer battery that is un removable and make it as tiny as possible while it has almost the 1,500Mah so it can be extremely tiny

This was only about 400 mAh bigger than stock. Most unoriginal batteries with same size and a wonderful battery capacity are fakes, discharging as original battery or - in som cases - in just a few hours.
This far only Motorola has been able to place 3300mAh in a slim phone. Razr Maxx is 8.99 mm thick, same as HTC One X - who only has 1800 mAh battery (same capacity as standard Razr with it's 7.1mm thinnes and memory card slot, which HTC also claims they cut to keep their phone slim. . .)

Well, my perfect device would be a 120 * 60 * 10 mm phone, carrying a nearly bezel-less all-touch front with a 4.5" HD display and a large (i.e. 3000+ mAh) battery.
Anything thinner is worse to operate one-handed for me, and carries the issues of shorter battery time, worse optical cam quality, device getting hotter and needs to enter wait state modes to cool down.
Anything bigger in X-Y dimension again is worse to hold single handedly, and my thumb can only stretch so far, can it? Reading speed also doesn't improve if the lines get too long, and more screen estate again equals shorter operating time.
I like my S2, but already find it both, too big and too slim (although I'm already using the larger, thicker battery), and I won't purchase the S3 because I do own a tablet for my tablet needs, and I want a phone for my phone needs. This includes hand sized measurements in all respects. It has to be survival of the most fitting!

Phones are getting thinner (just like the days that dumbphones were really small) and the choice between a bigger battery or thinner phone it utterly BS.
For most of the phones out there today there are bigger batteries available without the battery itself being bigger in dimensions.
Thus I think it's not the question if we can't even choose between a thinner phone or a bigger battery because the batteries nowadays also suck. That's why I have 2 spares with me every day (because I call a lot and do a lot with my phone when I'm on the go or even in the office).
Thinner phone: yes
Bigger battery: not going to happen

Wow sounds beautiful! Throw in an Amoled and wala.
Though as stated so much battery is huge worry. If they have any brains the will squeeze the highest capacity lithium polymer battery in they can. Everyone should go lithium polymer!!! Smaller battery and higher capacity. Ftw!

Motorola RAZR MAXX is the king of battery lifetime and it's well specced as well.
The back looked more like carbon fibre than kevlar, but it could be that a different process was used.

Perhaps they'll have a bigger battery version too, like the RAZR/RAZR MAXX and that Huawei thing.
