Honor 30 Series has forced the hands of other phone-makers and made some so called 'famous" brands look like "outsiders". For any smartphone (series) to sell well in China's phone market for the 2nd half of 2020, you will need two passports:
    - 5G, supporting NSA/SA. (All solutions based on SD855 or SD855+ are out because they don't support SA mode.)
    - a periscope optical zoom.

(We are talking about Android smartphones only here.)

Vivo X50 series will have three models: X50, X50 Pro and X50 Pro+. This series is inspired by Honor 30 Series, and will be priced slightly below Honor 30 Series. It will likely use another up-clocked version of SD765G as its SoC. (This 2nd up-clocked version will likely be more powerful than SD768G.) It will not use SD865 so that it will leave room for Vivo's true flagship Vivo NEX4 which is forthcoming in Q3. Vivo X30 Pro can be seen as a 1st round of dress rehearsal for Vivo NEX4. X50 Pro+ can be considered as a 2nd round of dress rehearsal for Vivo NEX4. (Vivo NEX will include additional new technologies, including under-display selfie, 100W charge, etc.)

Honor 30 Series has inspired many follow-up smartphones, including Xiaomi's Mi 10 Youth (with Xiaomi's first ever periscope optical zoom), Vivo X50 series, the forthcoming new Oppo series, and a new Redmi series, etc.

        This is Vivo's camera-centric flagship.
It has always come at around $700 for the regular and $800 for the pro.
Also, don't expect wireless charging or SD865 inside.
They have always used the best available mid-range chip to cut costs, but the display and cameras have been outstanding.

Are you serious BBK? Your confusing your realme x50 line with a vivo X50 line?

Anonymous, 15 May 2020Vivo X50 will come with a most impressive camera setup: 1)... moreYes, most certainly IMX689 along with the APEX stabilization, but most likely just an SD768G under the hood.
I love the X30 so far, except the battery life.
0 complaint over speed (up there with SD845), display( as good as the S10e if not better) or cameras(daylight stills and portrait shots are amazing, but ultrawide and low-light performance is just ok).

I kind of like Funtouch. If the phone meets there requirements then I will seriously consider:
              - flat 90Hz screen, preferably not bigger than 6,5",
              - wireless charging,
              - decent+ cameras,
              - 4000+ mAh battery,
              - price around 500$.

Vivo's FTOS 10 is a bliss! Have been using the X30 for 6 months and it6 really the best mixture of iOS and Android features. Smooth animations, no lag, no bugs noticed so far, excellent with google apps.
They don't provide monthly security updates, but do them every 3 months and functional OS upgrades keep popping in every 2-3 weeks.

Vivo X50 will come with a most impressive camera setup:
                  1) a special large sensor main camera; (Rumored to be as good as IMX689 or better.)
                  2) a Gimbal style optical image stabilizer, a smartphone first;
                  3) a periscope zoom that goes beyond the typical 5x optical; (Rumored to be x7.5 optical.)
                  4) the best sensor ever used for a smartphone selfie.

This smartphone is designed to compete directly against P40Pro+ and P40Pro for the top 2 spots of the best camera smartphone in the first half of 2020.

Anonymous, 15 May 2020horrible locked OS causes the brand to fail Not a great fan of their OS either but the company is hardly failing. They have similar global sales to Xiaomi and OPPO.

                      Must have a headphone jack.

Vivo never removes 3.5mm jack from their phones
