The Samsung Galaxy Note20 family won't be getting 100x Space Zoom

I am guessing the 100x Zoom Camera unit was extremely heavy in price and movement, and probably not worth the effort, since it added noticeably to the final price.

I thought it's 5x? Seriously who in the right mind would market it as 100x with only 3.5x optical zoom and let alone having only the 48mp for hybrid, instead of the 108mp. The person doing this marketing really ought to be sack.

... moreThe chipset is absolute garbage. It's seriously underpowered even compared to $200 phones (ex. realme XT, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Vivo Z1 Pro).
S10 Lite is much better. Its chipset is powerful, yet its camera setup is pretty good. It's a fine phone in my opinion.

I really liked S20 Ultra(of course NOT its outrageous price points which never going to stick beyond couple of months) and it was really dazzling while Note series getting stale except for the S Pen more like an afterthought S series. Their EXYNOS editions are real sorry looking ones. Too bad Huawei is nowhere to be seen due to China!!

The S20 Ultra never had 100x zoom to begin with. Not even 10x zoom. But if cropping is suddenly considered as zooming, them my phone has 100x Zoom, maybe more!

Next step = S21/S30 with 50MP 1/1.3" instead of 108MP.
That is why Sony Semicon does not have 108MP. Neither does Omnivision.

No problem. They'll find another thing from their marketing machine to advertise if they can't reach the Huawei quality with that zoom. Maybe some cheerleaders showing new fashion cases for their next phones without expandable memory due to some new reason/excuse...
