That looks like a terrible design.
the Sony Clie from 20 years ago was already a better clamshell with flip camera.

good to see some original concepts like good old day. remember Nokia N95 and 3250.
now imagine a side mounted periscope camera lens with actual motorized lenses.

I'm quite excited for this actually. Not sure if I'd buy one, but I'm really glad that at least some smartphone manufacturers are trying something new, like in good old days.
That being said, Xiaomi does have a history of patenting stuff they end up never delivering... I'm going to be excited if Xiaomi manages to deliever at least ~some~ kind of clamshell foldable phone that would be affordable - clamshell is a future of folding phones and it desperately needs more competition.
