Samsung should've used Exynos 880 on more of their smartphones. Like A52 could've gotten exynos 880 instead of snapdragon 720G.

That certainly would improve on the SoC.

Exynos 880 is needed for the lower-price segment. Exynos 880 will become the 5G equivalent of Exynos 9611, so widely used in lower-priced Samsung phones, M series and A series.

Anonymous, 27 May 2020Nah they don't, if they did I would be promoting S20. I am... moreits not even the question that needs answers and comments ... and not every other people has luxury to buy over-priced under-rated processor in favor of the name of advertised giant company, AND most people are NOT even happy AND have NOT the luxury to buy new phone for the next 2 years, your preferences are yours only

"Samsung announces Disappointment 880 with built in 5G super slowness".
The last decent SoC they made was 9810 and 9820/25.
9611 is just plain slow.

I am speaking from my personal experience, it is relatively fast for everyday use and moderate gaming, by the next 2 years it will be outdated, then I change the phone.

Still run apps and so, but definitely no comparison to the newer chips

I mean, of course I'm not expecting flagship performance for this price point. But it's just....slow. I've tried the Galaxy A50s with similar chipset last year and opening even the home screen gives you a bad impression. I felt like the Redmi Note 8 I tried is still snappier (but still quite slow). Ok, the display is good enough, fine.

Shadocx, 26 May 2020Galaxy A50 overheat, and phone reboots often after 10 month... moreQualcom doesn't have any such problem but this type of heating issue is main faced in exynos and meditek.I am just worried about the 2.6ghz in dimensity 882 for short term its good its fast but after 1year it will heat it will consume huge battery even though its made on 7nm.Qualcom never gave such high clocks in their midrange cpu as it will create efficiency problem in future wheter uts built on 7nm or 5nm.

Anonymous, 26 May 2020avoid crapynos.... mediatek even better now.Yes mediatek is better BUT its less margin. They both use the same arm cores but the ones in meditek have higher clock speed moreover samsung phone will benifit from exynos as their software is made for run best in exynos processor. But a midrange samsung phone with amd graphics(Amd graphics is the highlight here) will easily outpass meditek due to the graphics part.

... moreGalaxy A50 overheat, and phone reboots often after 10 months of using it, problems with auto rotate as well.
Even my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with SD 636 doesn't have these problems, except a little less battery life after 2 years.
