    I think it is too expensive. Perhaps the strategy is not to sell too many of them? As Polish I am always looking for value for money and it is hard to see that with this handset. Besides that, Android does not offer system updates for that long as Apple does.

Plus that S20 Ultra 512GB version is 1550 Euros. 1300 Euros is for 128GB. Even S20+ price you posted is for lower storage option. Don't be deceitful. You can't compare it with 256GB Xperia. Storage is important in publicizing price. Aso I'm getting free 270 Euros headphones. That makes the price for mobile only 930 Euros. That's lessthan OP 8 Pro 1070 Euros version with no expansion.

            Also iPhone doesn't have 4K display, nor can shoot 20fps AE/AF bursts. Sony is god tier in AF now. I would rather prefer good, decent, DSLR like pictures than fake, oversaturated instagram pics. Period.

            PS: Samsung in europe comes with Exynos.

              Prices in Germany (date 05/27/20):
              - S20 Ultra 5G = 1300€
              - Iphone 11 Pro = 1250€
              - S20+ 5G = 1100€
              - P40 pro = 1000€
              - Mi10 pro =1000€

              The Sony Xperia 1 II = 1200€ - while offering the worst specs of them all - we will see if the camera is still sony-ish (a.k.a. okay but not good). Im sure customers will rather buy an iphone (without 5g) or an s20 Ultra for "just" 100€ more...sorry Sony, but you should fill niches (21:9, compact phones, playstation phones (maybe?), great audio) not compete with better phones.

                        This is the best deal currently especially with those bundled wireless earphones. I can’t understand the hate. And the price will come down as the time passes. Sony is ultimately more trusted than those chinese brands which looks all the same. They’ve enough copying iPhone that they now copy each other. This phone is catered to content creators who are always on the move. Those cinealta and photo pro apps are slick. Definitely worth than 1000€ Oneplus even without wireless earphones.

                          WH-1000XM3 would be a really nice incentive to pick Xperia 1 II ... I often order things in germany, so it's non issue for me.

                            This device is doomed to fail. In their marketing strategy for flagship phones, Sony has always been throwing their brands at the public and hoping that they would take the bait. They used to claim to have screens based on Bravia TV technology, music player using Walkman technology or have a useless "gaming" app that did nothing at all but had the trademarked and well-known "Playstation" brand on it.

                            In this particular phone, Sony claims that its camera system uses "Alpha" and "CineAlta" technologies.

                            There is nothing Alpha / CineAlta about this phone, nothing at all. This is a yet another over-priced, confusingly named, uninspiring and unremarkable phone with an ugly and dated design (subjective) made by Sony. Why do they repeat the same process for the hundreth time and still expect a different outcome is beyond me, honestly.

                              I live in Czech Republic (sadly the Sony Xperia 1 II hasn't been priced yet), but it should be somewhere around 33,000CZK (1250EUR). The same prices probably goes for other EU countries.
                              This is for all those fanboys who are saying that all flagship phones cost the same (1200EUR) nowadays and are trying to defend these Sony prices. Here are some prices from my country, like they are now (not including here any promotions, because for example Samsung S20+ will be even cheaper):
                              - iphone 11 Pro Max - 33,000CZK (1250EUR).
                              - Samsung S20+ - 28,000CZK (1050EUR).
                              - One Plus 8 Pro - 25,500CZK (950EUR).
                              - Realme X50 - 21,000CK (800EUR).
                              - Motorola Edge+ - 33,000CZK (1250EUR).
                              - Huawei P40 Pro - 28,000CZK (1050EUR).
                              - Xiaomi Mi 10 5G - 22,000CZK (850EUR).
                              - Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G - 28,000CZK (1050EUR).
                              - Google Pixel 4 XL - 22,000CZK (850EUR). This has SD855, but I put it here because is still the latest Google phone in offer.

                              As you can see the more expensive phones are the iphone (which in a way I understand, because it is in a league of its own), Motorola and Sony (who are both useless companies nowadays when it comes to phone making and pricing).
                              And then, they complain why people are not buying Motorola and Sony phones.
                              I would rather jump ship and get an iphone 11 Pro Max, than this overpriced Sony Android phone. The same goes for Motorola Edge+.

                              Yeah, of course now the fanboys will appear and say: "But the Samsung has Exynos crap chipset, Xiaomi has bloatware, Realme is not well known, iphone has different ecosystem, One Plus has inferior camera", etc.
                              My advice, stick to your overpriced Sony phone and stop coming up with excuses all the time for Sony. You are worst than EA games fans, really.

And it as confirmed that Xperia 1, 5 and 1ii use samsung sensors (3 sam's sensor + 1 sony's for 1 and 5, 2 sam's and 2 sony's for 1ii). saddly.. samsung's sensor is worse than sony's. Maybe this is the reason sony opted to use their on sensor for the Ultra wide lens (since people use ore main camera and ultra wide now days)

                                      Sony managed to sell a meager 400k units worldwide in Q1 2020 while individual Chinese phones are selling 100k plus in a few seconds via flash sales in a single country.

                                        Who buys Sony phones nowadays? They still could not get rid of those ugly bezels. Exorbitant price. Mediocre processor.
