Shame about the mid-rabnge SoC. 765G is even a slight step down from the Exynosn 980 in my X30 (uses A76 cores instead of A77 in the 980).
Cameras, audio and display will be top notch though.

Besides, X50 series is just a "technology dress rehearsal" for Vivo NEX that will be forthcoming in a few months, with additional significant new technologies.

Good cameras will be limited by size but audio dac is one thing that can be top on a phone, leaving a dedicated dap burden. Vivo has a history of good audio. Camera seems nice also. With master audio or dsd's, music listening could be blissfull on a phone.

If the main camera uses the Samsung Gn1 and an f/1.60 lens, the hardware would capture more light per exposure time than any other phone. It would be equivalent to an 1/2.55" type sensor with f/0.92 OIS lens. It would even capture a tiny bit more light per exposure time than a Canon Aps-c camera + f/3.5 kit lens at 15mm.

There are multiple models in this Vivo X50 series. The best model in this series will compete against P40Pro and P40Pro+ for the top 2 spots of the "best camera phone" for the first half of 2020.

With the exception of P40 Series, none of the 2020 smartphones released or announced so far offer really impactful new technologies. Vivo X50 series seems to be on its way to change all that. The gimbal-style stabilization will offer great improvement on motion-tracking shots, for photography, but especially for videography. Making "motion-tracking videography" available for a smartphone for the first time, Vivo is taking a leading position in smartphone videography.
With a rather unusual array of camera sensors and supporting technologies, Vivo X50 series appears to be position itself to challenge the supremacy of P40Pro and P40Pro+. The camera system offered here is more flagship-worthy than most of the so-called "famous brand" flagships.
(Note: 48MP IMX598, used here for the first time, is an improved derivative of 48MP IMX689, with improved color filters to achieve higher sensitivity. Not quite at the level of RYYB filter, but still very noticeable. IMX598 has the potential to replace IMX689 to become the 2nd best camera sensor after 50MP IMX700.]

Nice to see some real innovation on the camera front, not a fan of curved screens though so won't be buying.
