Something is not right. The exynos 992 is supposed to be a 6nm soc, with configuration similar to the 990.

Anonymous, 28 May 2020After 990 fiasco, they should offer Snapdragon in Europe. The exynos 9810 was even worse.

I don't know what the writer is talking about because the Exynos 990 on my S20 Ultra definitely doesn't have a Cortex-A77 core, it has Mongoose 5 big core and Cortex-A76 middle core. A78 will also not be available until 2021.

Anonymous, 28 May 2020It takes more than just a node shrink to compete. What are you talking about? Everyone's just after the superficial better numbers. It's always bigger battery, more storage, more ram, SD9XX+, higher megapixels, higher refresh rate, higher fps, smaller nm chips. They don't even care about the actual benefits those bring, they just want the "better" numbers. To help my point, there's another user here who sh!ts on Intel because of their "14nm+++++" chips.

Please make it as good as Snapdragon at least or else fail. People in Europe and not buying Galaxy S20 anymore because of the Exynos fiasco.

For now, it's the Mongoose-less Exynos with the latest architecture and GPU in 2020. Maybe, Exynos will perform just as great as Snapdragon just because they ditched the Mongoose cores.

We're already at the 5nm process? Great news.
I wonder if the next Snapdragon will also follow suit.

Exynos 990 uses Cortex-A76 not A77.

"The Exynos 992 will use ARM’s Cortex-A78 CPU cores and Mali-G78 GPU architecture. In theory, this would mean 20% more efficiency of the processor, compared with the existin Cortex-A77 on the Exynos 990, while the graphics unit will offer 25% better performance than the Mali-G77."
It may be a Lot More than a 20% efficiency if Samsung doesn't use any of the Mongoose Cores and solely relies on the ARM A78 architecture. Plus, if Samsung has managed the AMD GPU, that could be a winner too.
But all this wont make it to the Note20 Series. They will make it for next year's flagships, and Samsung's quality improvement may be substantial.

People dont cara how small the semicon process node... no point if it still performance degrade and throttle during high intensive gaming...as what in the s20 ultra ...
