Anonymous, 01 Jun 2020Why are you shilling for them? They should not put out gazi... moreSecurity updates are important for who? Do you have compromising data on your phone, you do bank transaction and have sensitive information? Then yes, probably you need a good secure phone.
But the average person have none of the above, but still are screaming out loud that security is so important for them. Why? To call your mom or girlfriend on whatsapp? Or make a picture of your butt on instagram?
Facebook and Zucky already have your personal data long ago, no matter which phone you had or have.
As long as you use at least one social app, your personal data is long gone.
Yes, it could be even worse, but if somebody doesn't like the current situation in the World, they could alternatively buy a Nokia 3310 phone, delete all social things in their lives, use only money without cards, and then they are secured. The end.

acemang, 01 Jun 2020I've a pixel 4 with latest android 11 build and it's super ... moreAt least with android they do much better beta testing and stabilizing before release.
Where as with ios they just act like they bug tested it and then send out full of issues still in beta. Then subsequently send out a multitude of updates for weeks or months to try and fix them.

Bogdan, 31 May 2020I had an 180EUR Samsung A20e (a 2019 model to be more exact... moreWhy are you shilling for them? They should not put out gazillions of models they cannot support in the first place.
They have the nerve to sell stuff then proceed to ignore them afterwards?
Security updates are important. They can get away without major updates since Android is regressing anyways.

I've a pixel 4 with latest android 11 build and it's super unstable. It's not ready for general public and I doubt they corrected all major bugs in this last month. That's the real reason they are not releasing for the masses. They have "good" excuses for delaying without looking bad. But the truth is that they still have a long way to go before releasing a "stable" version.

Anonymous, 30 May 2020It's just a software update launch event... Get off your hi... moreAnd the least important of them all too.
Android has started regressing ever since android 10. Who cares that 11 would be worse yet, we already know... While you are at it, Google, just don't release it st all. Remove the restrictions of android 10 and patch its bugs...

Carol, 31 May 2020Yeah well that device came with android 10, wait and see wh... moreIt will 100% receive Android 11. Android 12 too.
Samsung S9 came with Android 8 out of the box and it will receive Android 10, but later than S10 users who had Android 9 out of the box. It is always like this with Samsung:
-flagship models from current year, if it is necessary to upgrade them. I mean, if the phones were released prior to latest Android coming out. S20 came out of the box already with Android 10.
-mid-range and even some low-end models, but only from previous year. All the A series from 2019 are updated to Android 10.
-flagship models from 2 years before. S9/S9+ and Note 9 series will be updated or are already updated to Android 10.
-any Samsung device older than 2 years will not receive any software updates, no matter how powerful it is. See the case of S8/S8+ or Note 8 series.

Thito 1990, 30 May 2020They are teasing for android 11 and we the samsung users a... moreI had an 180EUR Samsung A20e (a 2019 model to be more exact) and I received Android 10 somewhere at the end of February 2020, in Europe.
I recently sold the phone, because I needed a more powerful phone for gaming. But Samsung actually did a great job with all the A series models from 2019. Even the lowest priced A10 received Android 10.
Other companies, like Xiaomi or Realme, are only now in May updating their mid-range to high-end models from 2019.
I am not trying to excuse Samsung, but they came a long way from the days of S5 for example. Yeah, they are not updating their models for more than 2 years, but with the number of phones they are releasing each year, it's understandable.
If you are so focused on software updates, just buy mid-range Samsung devices and change them once per 2 years. You will have rather good phones and still have the latest software install all the time. And loose less money than buying flagship devices.

They could just upload a video on youtube and be done with it. Could be just a bunch of downgrading Android to IOS levels anyways.
