Not a good way for Marketing. Downright cheap, 1% will not even be 7,000 USD

Well 1% aint much.
It could be at least 10 or 20%.
Noone would die from loosing a bit more if company revenue s big enough to afford it.
If they were so great they could give 100% from first 1000 units sold.
Thus to my hinest opinion.

Despite the fact Nubia has a North American store (and the RedMagic 5G device has an "North American" version), there a lot of 4G and 5G bands missing!

1%? Well it sure is a good initiative but that is just a marketing trick to gain more customers.

1% of the first 1000 pre-orders isn't much. But it is 1% of the first 1000 pre-orders more than any other brand on the market..
At least a little is given, better than nothing at all I would say.

Congratulations, that is a grand total of ~0.01% of all donations that Child's Play has ever received. This is just a PR stunt; if they truly wished to help out then they'd donate much more than a measly $5800. That amount is huge if a single person were to donate it, but we're talking about a company. That's peanuts compared to how much money they have.
