My mother is well versed in operating a Windows 10 PC.
So a tablet running Windows 10 shouldn't be a problem.
In fact it is a perfect laptop replacement when she wants to get real work done unlike an iPad which is pretty much useless when compared to laptops.

The iPad is the very best tablet in each price point,the Surface Pro is a 2-in-1 that is not really good at being a tablet or a laptop, one is better off buying a full blown laptop if they are looking at that.
The iPad Pros are being used a lot in aviation, medicine and design studios, truly amazing devices

Dude, iPad is perfect mom device, easy to use, good to watch videos and completely hassle free repairs without any additional worries. I'm an Android guy all the way, but I won't touch an Android tablet with a 10 foot pole. Maybe a Lenovo Chromebook duet would be fine, but I don't think it's anywhere close to being as good as iPad for most stuff my mom does

Why invest 400 dollars on a overstretched iPhone when you can get full functionality embedded laptop replacement?
Besides the iPad pro does cost 1000 dollars and above but is useless for that price. I'd rather pay more and get a fully featured device like Surface pro 7.
Don't want to carry laptop and big screen tablet everywhere.
All in one solution is the way to go.

as an android user, i would still buy an ipad if i need a tablet. Android doesnt really put real competition against ipad.
