Something that can get them flak from racists, whites, evangelics, religious nuts, or get them boycotted by certain majority people who like playing the victim. Poor black people don't buy iPhones and Macs, rich white people do. And still Apple says something that could hurt their sales, just because it's the right thing to do. And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't even like Apple, okay?

Those are just PR statements like they publish when they have a new product release. Some companies are taking some legitimate actions, but for most, just a public statement and a small donation and call it a day. Maybe delay a product launch too. But those who are really against racism will leverage their huge influence over lawmakers to change things. Big Tech corps have such influence, we all know that. Big corps in general have such influence as well. Imagine if they all came together and said "Stop this". The Congress, the Senate, even the President couldn't say no.

Luv , 05 Jun 2020You revwy off base, the press release was about black lives... moreThat person does have a point. I believe their message was that Apple was being hypocritical by saying no to racism while treating Asians in an inhumane way. You can't be against racism when you think one "race" is worth being defended while harming another. That's just moving the problem out of sight to where people aren't actively looking. To truly be against racism, you must treat every single human equally.

And while Apple doesn't directly operate their factories and contracts others to build their products, they should have bigger oversight on the process. It's not an urban legend that these factories are horrible places. It's a documented fact published in respectable publications, not some alt-news places like that horrible site that starts with a B... ugh.

This company generalised Asian people as thieves in the sham lawsuit against Samsung.
They still run sweatshops in China.
They needed to be told several times that people were killing themselves due to the inhumane conditions in the factories they use. Not in 1700's, not in the 1800's, but four years ago.

This company is one of the worst products of corporate socialism you'll ever find. If it's good for their offshore bank accounts, it's good. Today, "standing up for the black man" is estimated to be a good investment for them. This is the only reason they've produced this press release.

Mmmmm...I wonder if he wasn't gay (a minority) if he would have still said something.

This from a company that runs sweatshops. How could anyone take them seriously?

Another one bites the dust, companies don't care about fighting racism, they just want your money so they are pandering to the black community.

Why do they use T2 chips and don't sell them to repair shops if they are fighting climate change? "Just buy a new macbook" is not "fighting" climate change! The hypocrisy is sickening...

IpsDisplay, 04 Jun 2020Wow can 2020 calm down pleaseIt will if you stop referring to it as an out of ordinary year.

All we had was a mild pandemic (milder than the 1968's even) which turned into violence in the land of the free and crazy.

That's it really. The markets didn't care (Nasdaq is in new all time highs), economies don't care (by next year we would be on traget) , even racists don't care. They would be reprimanded due to the economic loss they caused to insurance companies in US, but by next year they will go back in their ways.

The world is literally as it was as 2019. I vote 2020 as the most overrated year of all.

What is the relation between hunan race and phones performace race? If we ban one shouldn't we ban the technology race too? All phones to have equal number of processors, battery capacity and screen size, but the case color should be diverse.

If you support black people so that they can fight against any racial issue, that's ok, as long as you dont loot and respect others, of course.

But if you do and believe this PR bait from Apple and friends, you are a double standard person.
