    Sounds like propoganda to discourage ppl from buying Samsung... But if true... Samsung will go extinct in no time.

        This is concerning to say the least. Its sound like it should belong in a new line of ultra affordable smartphones.
        My guess(and hope) is that were not gonna see this on the OneUI upgrade for the Note20.

          I guess they can't fight against low profit margines with chinese brands overflooding the market, so... If you can't beat them.. join them... I can't believe I actually starting to consider buying an iPhone... Terrible news for all Android fans and my only hope is others won't follow this terrible idea of fighting for business.

              Nick Tagataka, 08 Jun 202015 seconds ads before unlocking????? Yuck, absurdity at its... moreFriend's Note 9 bought from SE Asia has ads from Samsung Push Service and Galaxy Gift. You can give that S20 Ultra from SE Asia a try if you must. Yes, they can be disabled, but it's not what you expect from a flagship.

              Should have got an iPhone XS Max instead. Yes, it does cost a lot, but it does not come with ads and its resale value is extremely strong. Or a Mi 9 if budget conscious is a must.

                I have noticed a friend's Galaxy Note 9 (Southeast Asian version) having pushed ads from Samsung Push Service and Galaxy Gift. Yes, they can be disabled, but it gives the feeling that you are rocking a cheap device. I didn't notice this in my S10 as I bought the unit from somewhere else and those don't come pre-installed.

                If Samsung cannot lower the prices of its A and M series while pushing the mentioned ads based on the article, good luck competing with Xiaomi and realme.

                If Samsung also decides to make ads more aggressive in its S and Note series (SE Asia models), then Apple and few Chinese flagships (Mi 10, Find X2) will laugh hard. Galaxy Gift (preinstalled) is already very intrusive.

                  "a 15-second timer on the lock screen which you need to watch before you can unlock the device."
                  this must be fake, otherwise anyone can sue Samsung for selling them device then forcing them illegally to watch the ad to unlock the device.

                    2022: - 6Go/64Go version --> 280$
                    - 8Go/128Go version --> 320$
                    - Ad free version --> 360$

                      15 seconds ads before unlocking????? Yuck, absurdity at its finest. I hope to god that this is just fake news or mistranslation and not what Samsung, the company with the largest share in the phone market, is attempting to force their users to go through. I definitely don't want to see system-level ads on my S10, Xiaomi would be laughing right now.

                        "The sample ad shows a 15-second timer on the lock screen which you need to watch before you can unlock the device."

                        Lol, and I bet the selfie camera will control if you're really looking at the ad or not. Brave new world...

                            This is not so Good

                              This is literally worse than what Xiaomi does, and they're the first at phone shipments worldwide. Honestly, on global you never get ONE ad on MIUI (mi 9t pro user here) and Samsung is planning on putting ads that don't allow you to even open your phone!?

                                It's good to see Samsung recognising that they are too dominant and taking steps to actively drive customers to switch to other brands...

                                  15 second timer? Wtf! No Ads was the only plus point, Samsung had over the Chinese phones.

                                    And that's how I moved from Android to iOS after 8 years of use (I haven't moved yet, but I might if this turns out to be true)

The problem with Xiaomi phones are the bugs and the need to agree with collecting and using your data in certain apps. The ads are moslt on Redmi phones and you can disable all of them if needed.
