The new Mi Mix and Mi 10 Pro were both rumored to pack 16GB, but the former hasn't been announced, the latter tops out at 12GB.

The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things iPhone can't.

The upcoming iOS 14 will finally get an app drawer and fully functional widgets, Lol these are things that existed on Android a decade back.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

Is it really that much cheaper to just dump hardware on your phone than work on the software lol

Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G already have 16GB RAM option.

LilPhone, 09 Jun 2020Don't tell me he's using a Nokia 3310Hauhahaah. This is interesting, i am still comparing which brand that is the best.

Xiaomi must work to make a stylus pen and mi max 4 or redmi note max or redmi pad 8 inch stylus.

Suppose Xiaomi optimize their battery efficiency, than boostering another huge RAM.

That is ridiculous, and not quality oriented, just quantity.

How about working on a phone that won't fall to pieces in a year. Always good on paper but rubbish in person. Never again Xiaomi.

This is why phones are too expensive.
Geeks and tech sites are to be blamed.

They demand more storage simply because they wanna fill 200GB with games.
They demand 12/16 GB ram because they want to leave 200 apps open, so they will open 0.001s faster.
They want 10, 20, 50, 1000x zoom to take photo of something 300m away, no matter if it provides VGA quality.
OEMs put many cameras just to please techvsites and dxomark.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2020Here's a complete list of reasons why you should have more ... more12GB phones are exceptionally more smooth. Especially after a year of use. The more a phone is used the more ram hungry (everything) it becomes. Having that much ram basically disallow you from having to factory reset every 6 to 8 months... and of course the better the OS can utilize it the closer are we to a ramdisk like experience (everything instanteneously).

Most people think that phones got snappier due to cpu upgrades. And that played some role, however the most significant upgrade in performance came from more meaningful use of huge amounts of ram. These days, modern (mobile) OS create shortcuts based on your patterns which they upload on ram, basically preloading the things we are more used to use. It's not that the processor "loads" the app faster, it is more the fact that many of its assets are already preloaded. Huge amounts of Ram brought revolution to phone usability, easily the most important part in our every day interactions with out personal devices. Storage (UFS) is second, processor upgrades 3rd (don't matter too much anymore)...

You are vilifying our savior. Eventually if we reach hundreds of GBs of ram, the whole phone would be uploaded during boot and non volatile storage would only be used for backups (in case the phone dies from battery completely and/or reboot). Imagine what will happen then. Elimination of the need of cache for most things, elimination of the main reason that leads to OS aging (why phones get slower with time).

16GB is too small for th as t dream to be alive, in a decade or two they would laugh that we though 16GB is too much. As we now laugh to those that though that 16K (RAM) is enough.

You can never have enough ram. The more the better (as long as you do not increase the given power envelope)...

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2020Instead of something useful, more ram and antutu score. Ram doesn't show to entity score. Also it is the single most useful thing given that it cuts loading times to 0 (all run from ram or from shortcuts within the ram).

All high ram (android) phones feel way more snappy, espec down the road... It is smart that they do that. Only issue is that (still) no company offers pro OS for those who want tot ake their work with them. Only Samsung did for a time (Linix on Dex) but then stopped. So much ram and horsepower should not only be used for chatting and similar...
