      If anyone is interested you can go to ebay and buy the phone for regular price and receive it in like a week with free shipping in white or black. No headphone bundle though but itll be unlocked for whatever carrier you choose

        My wife and I have had:
        Xperia Acro S (2011). Built like a tank, my 8 y/o son still uses it as a emulator gaming device.
        Xperia Z1C and Z3C (2013-14). These line was extremely fragile. The digitizer fused to the glass display. Both had cracked glass and the touchscreen stopped working. I almost switch brands just for that.
        Xperia X and XZ (2016-2017). So far so good. Both are very robust, surviving several falls to concrete and hard floor and not braking the display. My XZ slip from my pant pockets when I was upside down on an exercise bar (showing my kid something) and it fell to hard floor from about 1.5 mts and the plastic frame cracked in the corner, however the display is still in 1 piece.

        The camera was great at the beginning, quite fast, accurate for the time. But over the years / updates made the device slow. The camera start very slow now, the temperature rises quickly and I can no longer use special features for very long before it having to shut down to cool itself (4K, 1080@60fps, 720@120fps, AR, etc). I live in a hot country, however this didn't happen when the device was new. The front camera is the best Sony has put in a flagship, it even has AF that the current Xperia 1 II doesn't match.

        In general de device was very good, but there was nothing outstanding about it. Samsungs and iPhones from the time had better cameras, other devices had better battery life, performance was also better elsewhere, but I like Sony's UI and the little inclusions they make in their devices. I love the side fingerprint scanner, it is one of the best features of this device. T he true stereo speakers are quiet but balanced, it make games like PUBG play better because you can actually hear the direction of footsteps or shots.

        I am considering the Xperia 5 mark II if they release it later this year.... otherwise I might jump to OnePlus, Asus ROG, Pixel and such.

          To those who complain about price: get creative.

          My mobile provider allows me to extend my contract at any moment (even right after signing up for the original contract) IF I buy a phone with the new contract. When I do this they sell me the Xperia 1 II for EUR 780.

          Yes, really! Heavily discounted. Talk to your phone shop. The 3rd-party contract sellers are usually more willing to negotiate than the provider itself. (When I contacted my provider directly, they wanted EUR 917. Still a nice discount, but not as good as some 3rd-party sellers.)

          And, in my country, they're still selling it with the headphone too. I can easily sell the headphones for EUR 200 if I keep it sealed. That mean's I'm really only paying EUR 580 for the phone. That's not a bad price for a Sony flag ship!

          So, stop nagging and start haggling. You know you want this phone. You wouldn't be in these comments if you weren't secretly in love with it.

                            A 60hz display means that the display refreshes 60 times each second. A higher refresh rate, like 90hz means that that screen refreshes 90 times each second.
                            You have to include battery life here too though, as a higher refresh rate screen needs more battery life.
                            A 60hz display will last twice as longer than a 120hz display.

                              It has a 60hz display with software 90hz. Big deal. Did you forget that's it's also the only smartphone in the world with a 4k display with pin point colour accuracy?

                              No, you are wrong. As many people know, sony phones adapt with a users usage patterns to boost battery life. Even without this feature, mk2 has a similar battery life with the other flagships.

                              Better availability & after sales support since Sony is already kicked out of countries for low sales.
                              How is that a feature exactly? You can sell any phone at any price, to the the right customer.

                              Download another launcher. Problem solved. Close to stock Android is a feature, not a disadvantage, but each one likes his thing. In this case, another launcher.

                              Cheaper price.
                              What? Did you see the price of s20 ultra? Of iPhone 11 max? Of the latest one plus? Pocophone? No..?

                              Any more aspects?
                              Like professional camera experience? Front facing stereo speakers, double water resistance? Headphone jack? Uninterrupted display?

OnePlus 8 Pro already reached 1000$ and the Oppo Find X2 Pro is 1300$ in some market, and don't compare flagship killers to true flagship, they only have high specs, that's all. Richer UI means slower update and the phone will slow faster than Stock Android unless it's Samsung.

But it is only recommended to switch to high refresh rate once all you devices are high refresh rate.

                                        You know that feeling of frustration when you switch from a faster device to a slower one. Like when you boot your flagship from 5 years ago. That phone was fast at that time, but now you experienced something faster. Its like that for high refresh rates. Once you experience 120hz, all your 60hz screens will look gross and laggy. You will end up spending more money upgrading those other screens just because they didn't look good anymore.
