I can only see routers with WIFI 6 - 20 times more expisive than this in RU.
My ethernet board couldn't handle this speed lol.
Good stuff + very cheap (=affordable to people) = that's why i love Xiaomi.

All these because you want to decide for everyone else. You have a compulsive need to control and influence others.

I don't even care anymore, go bother and troll someone else.

      Have a good day.

AnonD-909757, 10 Jun 2020OMG, I hate when I have to interact with people like you, u... moreYou can keep writing litany of articles, wouldn't make what you say correct. For someone who talk so much, you say so little.

You clearly lack basic understanding of analogies. Displays are required part of phones; USB ports aren't required parts of WI-FI routers: Would a phone work without a display? NO; But WI-FI routers would work very well without USB ports. Tell me what again is "required minimum."

"Required minimum," you say? Who decides what should be "required minimum?" Mind pointing to your sources?

Don't botherÂÂ… you can't! Those are your "required minimum." Entirely subjective. Like I said, it's not for you. I don't need those your "required minimum" so I don't see the need to pay extra just to get them. And I'm sure that most people who would get this would find it just suitable for their needs, and wouldn't see the need to pay for excess.

I may want those your "required minimum," but I definitely don't need them. And would rather spend my money on things I need. Now I hope you know the difference between "need" and "want", at least. Or is it that you simply want people to spend more than they would want to, on things they could do without, just because they are your "required minimum?" Selfish and insensitive. What part of options do you hate? Who (or what) bent your mind this much? Let people only have the option of buying phones with AMOLED displays and OIS, because they are better than phones that don't have them. If they don't have the money to afford them, they should go borrow or steal.

If you think that people whining in Apple articles about how iOS is inferior to Android justifies your talk, sorry. You and them are in the same sissy team.

And hey, i didn't directly reply to your initial comment for a good reason. You had to directly reply to mine because you thought you're smart.

Cyberchum, 10 Jun 2020Keep writing articles. Clearly, you don't like this devi... moreOMG, I hate when I have to interact with people like you, unable to understand simple sentences and concepts.

It isn't about liking or not a device, it is about the device NOT HAVING WHAT SHOULD BE THE REQUIRED MINIMUMS.
Is is that hard to understand that nowaday, that we already have Wi-Fi overpopulation issue in some residential area that the Wi-Fi 6E that have been created EXACTLY for that purpose should be a requirement ?
Sure, some will sell you routers that don't have it, but some will also sell you stuff that barely work too, it doesn't make it an acceptable thing.
And is it hard to understand that this is a total lack of consideration for the user to not give them the latest security protocoles ?

What is wrong with you ?
Most advises are unsolicited, it doesn't mean they are bad, time proved the opposite, but YOUR answer to my comment in unsolicited and accomplish absolutely nothing positive.

Ok, I'll see you a car for only 1000€, a brand new one, at this price this is amazing, but you are only getting the steering wheel, is that concept understandable for you now ?
It's not about value for money, it's about the lack of things that shouldn't be absent in the first place.

And while my comment, lets call it comment A is complaining about the device, who would you ever care about it since other comments, lets take one of them and call it comment B is actually supporting the device.
Mainly when comment A isn't targeted at you, what a crybaby...
OMG, someone say something not nice about a device that I may not even intend to buy, I feel so offended".
"OMG people wanting phone to have better standard, peoples wanting rare and nice feature to be more common rather than overly available and totally disliked ones, that's terrible, quick I must complain that this person posted a comment before it ruin my day.".
"Oh no, peoples unable to find the right combinaison of features on a phone because they are too rare despite being highly desired complain about a phone that is almost a clone of the rest and said that this is a waste of potential, quick, lets jump on my white horse and try to make myself look like a hero by taking down this oppressive person trying to bring diversity or minimum lower standard on the market".

If I could I would make sure that any smartphone you could ever get your hand on had no display and call it a "budget device" then point my finger at you when you talk about wanting a phone with a display when you'll complain that no phone have the set of features you like.

And at the end, what the hell is my comment, that was totally not targeted at you, like not at all, have to do with you, why do you care ?
Are you a smartphone seller and it will make your sells drops ?
Have you put a part of your soul into this router and felt insulted that someone doesn't agree with this feature set ?
Will my comment make this router disappear ?
Get over yourself, I just said that some features that should be a minimum requirement aren't found in that particular router and that I don't want it, why would you ever make such a drama about a single comment ?

BTW where are you when on Apple devices comment section, peoples spit on it saying Android is better (or the opposite) ?

When are you launching it in India Xiaomi

All Wi-Fi routers aren't priced the same and they need not pack the same features. There are "budget devices", ever heard of that?

It's like those that whine about how phone A doesn't have AMOLED display, pop-up selfie camera, OIS, stereo speakers, Wireless charging et cetera; while phone B has those features?

Since phone B has those features, why not buy it and leave phone A for the targeted buyers, which you are clearly not one of? Why be a crybaby over everything? Anybody that needs those features would go for phone B, while overlooking phone A. Except you!

Clearly, you don't like this device. Clearly, it's not for you. From the look of things, you already own a capable router. What exactly are you doing here, giving unsolicited advice.

It offers solid value for the money, so what's your itch? Mention 3 other better Wi-Fi routers at that price point.

Wow, using Qualcomm chipset would make this a huge hit in opensource community given its pricepoint. I might buy this in the future but, for now, I'm contented with my Raspberry Pi 4 router using Raspap.

Cyberchum, 09 Jun 2020Some people always see the need to write article under arti... moreOk, since you have trouble understanding sentences, I'll explain it to you...

Wi-Fi 6E isn't only about speed, it is also about opening new bands for crowded Wi-Fi area, meaning it is both to avoid being stuck unable to add new equipment and not preventing other to do so.

WPA 3 is about your own security, the latest security standard that doesn't require any physical addition to the device as it is software.

USB ports are not essential, but a really welcomed and highly practical thing to have on a router.

All those 3 are stupid to NOT have for the reasons I described, having them would only add little to the cost, its not about "not being for me".
At the limit, I can understand for the USB port, yes, some might not need it, but who can claim "I don't care about blocking other people's Wi-Fi" or "I don't want upgraded security for free" ?
It is all about criticizing devices under a certain quality level that this one fall under.
If you don't mind letting brand selling poor/featureless equipments that can become a standard and even doing it for increasingly expensive price, like Smartphone remove the Jack and become more and more expensive, just remember that this isn't everyone's case.

If wrote the same thing about a Smartphone that didn't had 4G and couldn't send MMS, would you write the same comment ?
                      I am sure you would...

And why don't YOU act as if my comment simply didn't exist, what is the point of such comment targeted at me, without even using the reply function, as if it wasn't obvious to who it is targeted at...
Sorry but my comment is actually way more valid than your, from one end you have someone saying that the standard of the device isn't high enough, and on the other hand you have someone complaining that a comment is written in the comment section.

Finally a Wifi mesh router that supports gigabit speeds on the 5GHz frequency. This is a great addition for those who need a mesh network, and have a gigabit connection at home. Hope this comes soon. Will take it in a heartbeat!

The only drawback is that the WAN port is Gigabit. It could have been 2.5Gb instead.

Google translate works well but it is a pain when there is an update. There are some devs who did great work in translating the apps which can be found on their MI forums but it seems like Xiaomi makes it really difficult to use their products in the US and English language.

Xiaomi is getting slower in updated technology maybe that's the reason they switching suppliers and delaying software updates. And now this router much after the market competitors. Something need to be changed in their workflow especially in the prices of mi phones.

Jobaz, 09 Jun 2020You're saying all these because you have one and you don't ... moreNope, you missunderstood.
I* said that having Wi-Fi 6 without adding the 6GHz band of Wi-Fi 6E now that this is ready is a really big missed opportunity.
*Having no WPA 3 is really stupid on any Wi-Fi 6 as this new security norm is older, and considering it cost near nothing to add on top of existing WPA 2 (some even talked about older routers being upgraded to this new standard through update) this is really amazingly stupid.
*And finally, having no USB port isn't really a good thing, from hard drives to printer, there are many things in home network that can take advantage of an USB port.

Then I sort of said that, despite having a router without Wi-Fi 6, if I had the opportunity, I wouldn't change to this one as it lack too many modern tech and also lack some important things, one of which being USB port, but I didn't meant all that because I have a new router, if I didn't had any router, I would have simply choose another one (maybe the one I currently bought anyway) over this one.
