Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020Well, it's surely better value with 845. And i wouldn't say... moreTrue. I played most game in my xz2 (which has sd845) and the all still run smoothly with no problem whatsoever. I use xperia 1 as my daily and I fell bot much difference between the two on daily use. Probably the only thing that you'll notuce is the power efficiency, and for most people they won't really notice it anyway

YUKI93, 17 Jun 2020I'm so with you. Google Pixel 3/3 XL and OnePlus 6/6T also ... moreYup, this is exactly why I prefer investing in a flagship, because of their raw power, they can last longer than other smartphones before starting to struggle, my OnePlus 6t is still super fast and I never had any performance issues with it, and since there is a limit at how much more resources eating most background processes can get (as owners or older phones are still really numerous), a 845 is an SoC that will last several more years before showing signs of lack of power, and the same hold true for the 765 variants.

Demongornot, 10 Jun 2020I think you're all missing the point... The SD845 and the ... moreI'm so with you. Google Pixel 3/3 XL and OnePlus 6/6T also use SD845 and they are still blazing fast to this day even with numerous software version update. Even LG's V40 ThinQ is still a great performer.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020a good replacement for g7 only . Meanwhile all other people... more"all other people" ?

What planet are you on ?

The vast majority of people around the world can't afford a flagship phone, obvs

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020There's nothing special about the LG Velvet. It's as medioc... moreWell, bad news. The Velvet IS the dumbed down version of the western countries-only V60 for South Korea.

I think you're all missing the point...
The SD845 and the SD765G have similar performance level while the 845 is significantly cheaper, that's why they choose this one over the 855 or other 7xx chipsets, to have a phone with basically the same performance level but with lower price.

If you want to blame someone, blame Qualcomm for not making 865 and 765(G) equivalent without 5G (and cheaper obviously, otherwise there are no advantages).
Because if there is something I would dislike for a 845 over a 765, it would be that since the 765 is newer, it have better/newer/upgraded systems, instructions and software/AI.

Well, it's surely better value with 845. And i wouldn't say 845 is outdated. It's only 2 years old.

Blutbad-fuchsbau, 10 Jun 2020845? They could've used a 730G instead. It's literally the ... moreSD845 is better than that mid range SOC. so why not? its always better to use old flagship than any mid range SOC.

maybe they could have used 855 instead.

Qwerty2020, 10 Jun 2020actually, 500 euro is 'mid-range' price tag these days. mo... moreS845 is too outdated for a new phone, you're better off getting a secondhand one which is significantly better value. S765 series is indeed overrated but it's QC's 5G chipsets. S845 and S855 don't support 5G. 5G is a selling point in South Korea.

There's nothing special about the LG Velvet. It's as mediocre as any non-LG flagship. They should just stick with the old route or make a dumbed down versions of their flagships. Why can't they do something like the LG G2 which was the most successful?

Lg try to clear up the sd845 stock from v40 era? ...

I'm not complaining .. But better if they market it as velvet compact... reducer the screen size.. Lower the price...

At least on par with iphone se ...

845? They could've used a 730G instead. It's literally the lower version of the 765G, with barely any improvements. LG has been going crazy recently.

Why not 855+ ?

Anonymous, 09 Jun 2020Sounds like a good replacrment for my g7 fit. Bring it on LG!a good replacement for g7 only . Meanwhile all other people probably own device that is superior to this in 2018 .

Crackling Doom, 10 Jun 2020Wtf is LG doing? LG's mobile division is actively destroying the brand and wasting money. And they're on a roll!

I see this SD 845 version selling a lot here in Brazil. Specific decisions for specific markets. It'll go well, for sure

Lol LG makes some funny decisions.

Use SD855 instead

at least put SD855, price is not high and it still quite new
