Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020Well, it's surely better value with 845. And i wouldn't say... moreTrue. I played most game in my xz2 (which has sd845) and the all still run smoothly with no problem whatsoever. I use xperia 1 as my daily and I fell bot much difference between the two on daily use. Probably the only thing that you'll notuce is the power efficiency, and for most people they won't really notice it anyway

YUKI93, 17 Jun 2020I'm so with you. Google Pixel 3/3 XL and OnePlus 6/6T also ... moreYup, this is exactly why I prefer investing in a flagship, because of their raw power, they can last longer than other smartphones before starting to struggle, my OnePlus 6t is still super fast and I never had any performance issues with it, and since there is a limit at how much more resources eating most background processes can get (as owners or older phones are still really numerous), a 845 is an SoC that will last several more years before showing signs of lack of power, and the same hold true for the 765 variants.

Google Pixel 3/3 XL and OnePlus 6/6T also use SD845 and they are still blazing fast to this day even with numerous software version update. Even LG's V40 ThinQ is still a great performer.

I think you're all missing the point...
The SD845 and the SD765G have similar performance level while the 845 is significantly cheaper, that's why they choose this one over the 855 or other 7xx chipsets, to have a phone with basically the same performance level but with lower price.

If you want to blame someone, blame Qualcomm for not making 865 and 765(G) equivalent without 5G (and cheaper obviously, otherwise there are no advantages).
Because if there is something I would dislike for a 845 over a 765, it would be that since the 765 is newer, it have better/newer/upgraded systems, instructions and software/AI.

Well, it's surely better value with 845. And i wouldn't say 845 is outdated. It's only 2 years old.

maybe they could have used 855 instead.

S765 series is indeed overrated but it's QC's 5G chipsets. S845 and S855 don't support 5G. 5G is a selling point in South Korea.

There's nothing special about the LG Velvet. It's as mediocre as any non-LG flagship. They should just stick with the old route or make a dumbed down versions of their flagships. Why can't they do something like the LG G2 which was the most successful?

845? They could've used a 730G instead. It's literally the lower version of the 765G, with barely any improvements. LG has been going crazy recently.

                            Why not 855+ ?
