Maybe they would release laptops with Ryzen chips in the name of RedmiBooks. Remember they had trademarked this in early 2020.

None of these models have an option for 16GB RAM (or more). And they are soldered too. Which means not upgradeable either... What a waste of money.

I am done with Intel after disastrous experience with i5 7th gen HP laptop.

Stay away from these Intel rubbish.
Even an entry level Ryzen 7 4000 series will eat these Intel for breakfast.

Why no 16 GB option?! I would throw another $50 happily for adding 8GB more and knock out all laptops with crazy prices in Bharath (they are changing the country name soon) .

Can you believe that 512 i7 8GB 14 inch notebook is almost cheaper 50% than similar configuration iPad.

They have been programmed to spew so much cock and bull stories that lying to customers in order to sell "commission" bonus products or non-moving inventory has become their second nature.

Always go into a store informed, otherwise get the names/model numbers and research before spending money on anything. Also rule of the thumb...Never purchase the first thing the salesman recommends unless you know/have researched about the item in question.

Kristic, 11 Jun 2020I guess coz AMD does not bring that much publicity as Intel... moreFor business or office work, there is little difference between AMD and Intel at the same price point. You only see significant improvement when it comes to productivity.
There are little AMD offering due to Intel being the bigger and wealthier player, they are better able to provide support to more manufacturer. The turn in performance lead from Intel to AMD was only during the last 1-2 generation of processor.

You get what you pay for. Be that quality, reliability or support. Never forget that when buying anything.

Arif238, 11 Jun 2020I don't care, all of the consumer wants an aggressive prici... moreYeah exactly.

Anyone with the option to purchase a laptop in India or have a friend or family member bring it over from US, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, etc...always go with the latter. Sadly many peope don't have this option, to purchase a good brand + spec-d laptop without paying 50% to 200% more than the US price in India is a real gift.

The people here are agressively pushing Indian brands like iBall, Intex, Micromax, etc. Not hating on them...but this these brands got awful build quality and support, not just warranty issues but shocking lack of bios and microcode updates for the dozens of Intel vulnerabilities. Even bare minimum specs Dell, lenovo, acer, etc. need to be bought via a distribution channel (not really possible for the majority of non-corp individuals) to get a good price quote.

I would have prefered to see Xiaomi use some mobile Ryzen chips, in models which haven't gotten shafted thanks to Intel strong-arming (*cough* Dell *cough*) but these two laptops got good potential in a market like India nonetheless.

Can't wait to buy this... I use a MacBook pro.. and Now I am going to replace that with Mi... Cant spend lakhs of rupees in buying an overpriced MacBook! Thanks for launching this in India

$800 for an Intel Core i7 laptop with Nvidia MX350, 8GB RAM and 512 GB is comparable to Dell Inspiron 3493. It's just that the Nvidia MX350 is a brand new GPU, so I have no idea how would it perform.

I definitely wouldn't say it undercuts anything. The spec sheet is just so darn bad. >.>
