My LG G8x DSC is still on Android OS 10, with security patch level dated April 1,2020. Software version : G850QM20b.

WTF - and what gives? Why still stuck on this software patch now over 1 year.

How z the battery back up with moderate or heavy use on dual screen on ? I have heard that it's not that good.. I believe LG doesn't care about customer that the reason most of good phones are underrated only. As so this one.

The European version got today the update for the Android 10! :D

I think the battery performance is a bit poorer, if you are a heavy use wait to see what ppl say cause I regret updating.

They need to fix the fingerprint sensor, it's the only reason I updated and the improvement was minimal.

LG is rightly known for rolling out major android updates later than the other major manufacturers. The downside is the wait, but there is an upside too. Once LG finally rolls out an update, they are, in my experience, rock solid and generally better implemented than some others (I'm looking at you Samsung) with lots of real improvements and very little bloat.

Specific to this update, this biggest improvement I've noticed after only a couple days is significantly improved battery life, which I was hoping for, and which was desperately needed as the dual screen was absolutely killing my battery before. While my backup phone, an LG Stylo 5 still has the best battery life I've ever seen, albeit with a much less powerful GPU, the G8X now has everything I wanted and expected when I bought it.

Big reason why it'll be hard to convince me to stray from a Pixel ever again. I can't stand big name brands releasing high spec, expensive phones to only leave you hanging for an actual whole year for a software upgrade.

                  Still awaiting in India.

Anonymous, 12 Jun 2020That's a bit lateBetter late than never. Some phones never even see the lights of a software update and security patches.
