And no, 25% is about the average VAT tax across a bunch of developed countries, some higher, some lower.

Just cause a brand has high marketshare doesn't mean that it is the prefered brand. You have to look at customer satisfaction COMPARED to marketshare.

What can you expect from a company which employs sl*ve labor.

LOL....so when Apple offer their own services whilst allowing 3rd party apps to operate ie; having more options for the users, is stifling innovation and limiting consumer choice?

The point is that if Rakuten feels that they are being taken advantage of, they have every right to take action. They are not required to be at the mercy of Apple just because they use Apple's services. And they are not required to be content with the company they work for.

A business transaction should benefit both parties equally. If one is taking advantage of another, then there's a problem. Telling them to "stop complaining" and "start your own version of the business" (I'm paraphrasing here) solves absolutely nothing.

Someone got done for installing an app from the official appstore.

Yes its safer, but its not foolproof. Those examples by the other poster are not dissimilar to appstore.

And 25% where did you get that number from? Your 'feeling'? Just a guess? Lol

                              Apple is the new Microsoft.

It's not that far removed from Google promoting it's own music, video and other services within the playstore and preloading GMS certified android with their own Gapps.

Therefore I prefer app stores and I prefer that everyone else uses apps from their vetted platform stores. This is because if I am somehow connected to them or they have my information, this info can easily leak unintentionally.

And that's why I support applying a flat tax to all app purchases and subscriptions as it pays for app review, maintaining the store digital platform and 24/7 support centre, etc.

Maybe not 30%, but a 25% sounds more right.
