Many may not know this or care, but the words Band-Aid and Xerox are trademark terms. In other words, nobody can use those terms for their products or services. Yet, we use them generically because they are so popular. You get a cut, you ask for a band-aid. You want a copy, you ask for Xerox (sometimes).

I've heard people generically refer to tablets as ipads and wireless earbuds as airpods. That's the power of Apple's brand. Huawei and Samsung can't match that to date.

If I'm comparing Apple to the auto industry, they are the equivalent of having a Benz or BMW. There is nothing wrong with Honda or Toyota. The Accord and Camry are reliable and even luxurious to some degree, but they don't have the image of BMW or Benz.

    1. Agree on point 1 to 5.
    2. They provide the longest software updates
    3. They have a lot (I mean A LOT) of accessories like cases, camera lens, etc built for iPhone. Because the design did not change that much. Look for iPhone 7,8, SE for best example.
    4. They have the best after sales support. Their service center are everywhere. Even so, there is a lot of unauthorized repair shops who can fix an iPhone since there is a ton of spare parts.
    5. ios app is more polished all around. apple put a lot of strict guidelines in developing app when compared to android counterpart.
    6. The emphasis would be on the ecosystem. The iCloud just make everything easy, hassle free & seamless, but it also try to pull you in by buying more of their product like airpods or apple watch.

    You are right, most people don't really care about specs anymore regardless if they are an android or iphone users, even a midrange android phones nowadays will do fine on a day-to-day use. But some people use iPhone is for a lot of reason, some for showing off, some for the hassle free experience, some for the long software support.

        1. That logo. Let's be serious here, if a samsung phone had a apple logo and apple-esq design, what will the sales be ? It'll sell a lot.
        2. Brand image, they only sell expensive premium phones, giving that 'luxury feel' to the owners.
        3. Marketing. They're just best at making people open their wallets.
        4. All these apple stores. They are everywhere, and makes people tempt to go in by great displaying solution.
        5. Ecosystem. It locks people in there.

        What apple's best at is that they knows how to attract people. And make one of the most profits in the world.

        Why Androids push new technologies and value ? Their brand image isn't up there by apple. Android manufacturers' strategy is to attract people by giving them bit more and newer tech.

        But people don't care about specs, it's more like 'popular item'.
        I bet 95% of apple users don't know the specs ot their phone. (And in android side, people who buys phone because it's just cheap don't know the specs as well)

Most who want an iPhone are used to paying extreme amounts for a phone. Those that buy androids are used to paying less. All it means, is that this year more expensive iPhones were sold compared to expensive androids. Overall Android still has almost 90% of the market share of the world, so really it just shows that the minority of apple purchasers, can only spend big on expensive phones because that is all there is.

Why not S20, S20 Plus, Ultra? Those Samsung phones looks better on paper than A51, right? A51 (like those Apple iPhones), does not have even 5G, so, how is it possible.. Well, price. For same reason iPone XR (old but gold, for some), and iPhone 11, are most selling 2019, and half of 2020 year, phones, world wide. What about iPhone 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, those phones looks better in spec.. Is not thatt, iPhone 11 does not have giant notch, and 11 Pro/Max does, so that's a reason. The reason is because they are cheaper, i bet in second half of the year, the iPhone SE will be in a 1 spot in some countrys :)

                                      the surprise is to see Oneplus in its tables it's amazing how such a young and small company managed to do in such a short time so bravo Oneplus it's very good

                                        Then again, 11 is on first spot, just, because od the price, we all know that iPhone 11 Pro is just better phone, with better, more compact design, 2x better screen, better camera, but, it is not priced like 11, so there you go.. Today, even in premium buyers, looks first price..
