I ma not sure if this phone makes sense unless they fix the Edge and Edge+ screen issue. It is so widespread and a dealbreaker for many.

Ooinaru, 19 Jun 2020I don't think so, unfortunately. Look at the Motorola Edge.... moreThat's a really strange price for phones, in Norway. But this probably applies to all of them, not just Xiaomi, right?

Also, I just checked Mi 10 Lite 5G's price in my country. There's an online store having a discount right now, for the 6/128 global version, for just 330 euros! Some others sell the same one for 350 euros (basically, for the same price as the 6/64 version). It can't possibly be that much more expensive in Norway?

Anyway, if you have such high prices, imagine what the new Nokias are going to cost…

Spanky, 19 Jun 2020I don't think so, unfortunately. Look at the Motorola Edge.... moreI don't think so, unfortunately. Look at the Motorola Edge. Snapdragon 765G for 600 euros. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has the Mi 10 Lite 5G, same SoC, 350 euros starting price. You can even find some deals for 320-330 euros for the base model. Now, you can argue that the Edge has a waterfall screen and 90 hz display. But, if you look from the price-performance ratio, the Edge is almost twice as expensive. Sure, the Nokia 8.3 (same SoC) will also cost 600 euros, so it's Xiaomi undercutting the competition, rather than Motorola being overpriced.

The bottom line is that there is little chance that Motorola/Lenovo Edge Lite will be competitive, price-wise. In fact, even with the Snapdragon 690 (which I also believe will be used in this phone), I expect its price to start at ~400 euros, which is more expensive than Xiaomi's Snapdragon 765G offering.

Xiaomi isn't just undercutting the competition, it is saturating the market, and overwhelmingly so! I mean, you have the mi note 8 series, launched last year, mi note 9 series, launched this year, mi note 10x, I mean, the list goes on! 320-330 euros for the base Mi 10 Lite 5G, that's a compelling offer, but it translates to roughly 440 euros here in Norway so, that's a pass :P

As there is currently no phone that uses the sd690 soc, I can only speculate what price Phonemakers will attach to phones using it. As you say, 400 euros is probably a good estimate, but im guessing it will be closer to 350, and I believe that Nokia will probably hit that price with the 6.3 or 7.3, and Im hoping that Motorola will undercut Nokia, or match them pricewise.

In regards to performance, I think that it will cater to a broader audience in contrast to say, the 675/665 SoC's because of the better cpu and 60% increase in gpu power over the sd675. I also think that camera performance on phones with sd690 will be a lot better than previous gen.

Indeed, on SD 690 launch, qualcomm confirmed that moto will also launch a phone with this processor, and now I think this is that phone. Else, what's the point of launching another 765G device, when there's already vanilla edge.

Maybe it´s worth to wait. My guess is, it won´t have an 90hz display, and yes a lower chip maybe the 690.
